Just couldn't pass this one up, $569 at my lgs.

Stock the trigger feels about like my 40c with apex hardsear and usb installed. Just has a tiny bit more grit and better reset. The sight radius is amazing and I really like the hd sights. I'll report back after I get to the range.

Nice find! I love the Pro series 5" pistols. My pro is the 4.25 with night sights....It just doesn't have that cool factor the 5 inch models have. Maybe I'll have my 4.25 milled for a RMR. OK, now it sounds like my 4.25 is trying to compensate for something ;-)

Congrats! Let us know how it shoots.
Got mine totally stock and new for $580
Shot low out of the box.
Put a Warren Tactical rear U notch rear site and had to get a low lying 10-44 Performance front F/O sight.
Last time I went to range I was shooting way left.
Still have to get her sighted in properly.

I bought one online on the 13th in 9mm. I found one used for only $500 shipping included. The seller is the original owner and he never registered it with S&W. I can't wait until it gets here. Congrats. I only hear great things about them! There is a youtube video on one that has over 21k rounds through it and it is still going strong. The owner is going to replace the recoil spring and rod as routine maintenance since it has so many rounds through it. 21,000 rounds through a gun is a respectable number.

Would you mind posting a pic when you get a chance? I'm hoping I like the sights but wouldn't mind seeing what options are out there if I need to change them.

A little polish job on the striker block and trigger linkage contact will probably get rid of most of that grit.

Good idea, I may try my apex usb from my 40c if it doesn't clear up in short order.

My 9L CORE that I use for competition is at the 35,000 round mark. I'm still using the original recoil spring and striker assemblies. I bought a KKM barrel to see what it was like and don't see a lot of difference. I have a spare striker and recoil spring assemblies, as well as my extra barrel, and a spare extractor in my range bag but nothing has failed yet. Since it's not a protection pistol, and I'm not running for championships (leave that to the youngsters;)). I'm not into replacing parts on some kind of preventative schedule. If I have a problem (which I haven't) I'll fix it and continue on to the next stage. I guess I'm kind of doing a "shoot to failure" test, I was talking to a S&W rep and he said they stop their failure testing is done to 100K rounds(not that they fail at that point, it's just where they stop the testing). I have not had one gun related failure on this (or any other of my S&W) pistol. (Operator induced failures, yes:eek:) I clean it every week (1000 to 1500 rounds) so there is no fastidious maintenance that is done. Have fun with your new pistol.

I loved my pro9, wish i wouldnt have sold it. Love the 9c too. Both shot fantastic, but my shmedium sized frame couldnt conceal the pro if i wanted to. Nice pistol!

How many people here noticed their M&P Pro 5'' shooting low out of the box?
What did you do to correct for it?

I don't have mine yet, so I can't say. You are not shooting at the 6 o'clock position are you?

I'm shooting for dead bulls eye. Rounds are hitting at 6:00 and even lower!! Only 10 yards out!!

Mine shoots right where it's pointed from a Ransom rest. It also hits point of aim when I shoot it (if I do everything right:rolleyes:) When I installed my Deltapoint I co-witnessed the dot to the sights, I adjusted it less than 1/2 MOA when zeroing it. Close enough for me.

I need to start getting it together then. Cause it's downright embarrassing and humiliating when my little G26 out shoots my highly coveted precise target M&P9 Pro 5''.

I decided it was time for a little update on my Pro Series 9.

This picture is 5 shots at 50 feet.

Roger s&w, mine did not shoot low out of the box. It did shoot right.

Here is what I did to mine.

- Apex Tactical USB
- Apex Tactical Hard sear
- Apex Tactical RAM
- Apex Tactical Polymer Trigger
- Professionally sighted by my LGS

I couldn't be happier with the end result.

I have been eying one the Pro Series 5 inch pistols in 9mm. I have a 4.25 inch Pro Series and I love it. I am just trying to figure out a way to rationalize the purchase to my wife.

Love my 5 inch 9 mm Pro. It was my first pistol and has proven to be a great choice. The sights are dead on- once I learned to shoot- I was a complete pistol newbie.
