    686 mainspring selection problems

I used a Wolff type II in my 64-7, I had to use a new, full length strain screw to get the mainspring to clear the rebound slide at full hammer cock. I used a blue one because the steel is harder.

    Question on George Patton's S&W

As of 2009 it was still at the museum outside Ft Knox , when I was in the Army I had to take a trip to Ft Knox to drop off some theiving scumbag and after I was done I stopped in the museum. I saw both guns and also all the tanks in there.

    Bobbed hammer

    FWIW the 547(?) 9mm S&W revolver (basically a Model 10 9mm) had a semi-bobbed factory hammer.

    Hand Ejector .32 Long questions?

I'm not up on the .32's at all, I've been a .38 guy since the early 1990's:) .32 S&W's are new territory for me which is kinda exciting:) It's a 4" K-frame round butt, Hand Ejector with hard rubber stocks. It's definitely not the I-frame. I like revolvers that are over built for the cartridge...

    Hand Ejector .32 Long questions?

I'm a long time S&W nut, mostly .38 and .357 revolvers. I'm new to the S&W .32 Long revolvers. I just got a 31-1 4" and I'm looking at a 1920's era .32 Long K-frame HE. Am I correct to assume these receive the same heat treating as the .38 revolvers? Basically a .38 bored for .32? I was just...

Major Epiphany At The Range Yesterday. UPDATE Bought The M&P

^^^^ Why I only use revolvers and DAO autos..... When Murphy is on the loose I don't need any more levers or buttons in my way. My muscle memory is so ingrained with just pulling a long heavy trigger I don't want to relearn to mess with a safety.

    S&W Model 67-1 value

You can still get a beat looking but hardly fired 15 for $300, I just did.....I prefer stainless too but I'm not passing up a $300 15-7 that's completely tight mechanically:)

    The 327 Magnum still alive

Ruger did indeed make a .327 GP100, I was lucky to get mine for $600 before prices doubled. I want a .327 SP101 to go with it but I won't give $1200 for one. I'd rather use that and get a few more S&W 31's. Although you can shoot .32 Long in the .327 GP it's kind of a waste, might as well...

    The 327 Magnum still alive

.327 is more of a sharp , quick little shove with a loud, sharp muzzle blast. No where near full bore .357 but it's no pop gun either. Many people were misled by early gun rag reports into thinking the .327 was a man stopper with 0 recoil......and then it was found not to be the case. It's...

    S&W Model 67-1 value

With brand new ones going for $600 or so any older one in really nice shape for $4-500 is an ok price.

    The 327 Magnum still alive

I have a .327 GP100 and I love it, I can also shoot .32 Long, .32 H&R and .32 ACP. .327 Magnum is a nasty round and I just think it came out 20 years too late. People have been "hot rodding" .32 H&R for decades so hot .32 is not a new concept.

    Who else loves .32 Long:)

I used to own a pile of the old .32 Short S&W break tops, I sold them probably to fund some other "gotta have" gun purchases.....now I'm looking for a nice .32 short S&W again lol Right now I'm looking for a pre-30 or a 30 snub, not so much for any kind of carry but more for fun:)

Jerry Miculek grips how are they?

Grips are like shoes, everyone doesn't walk around in size 10 Nikes:) I guess back in "the day " you either had Magnas or Targets, and had to make do unless you got some custom grips made. Then grips like Farrants and then Pachmayr came out in the 50's- 60's. Now we have countless grip options...

Jerry Miculek grips how are they?

I like the Hogue non-FG rubber grip. They are the same profile as the wood non-FG Hogue grips. I believe the JM grips are made by Hogue, you'd probably be happier with non-FG Hogues. The more money I waste on expensive wood " target" grips the more I should learn to stay with Pachmayr, Hogue...

    Who else loves .32 Long:)

I finally found a 4" 31 for a decent price, I've been shooting .32 S&W Long for over a decade but this is my first S&W in this caliber. I've got a pile of .38's and just wanted something different. I've had H&A's, Iver Johnsons, etc. but finally decided to get something that can handle a lot...

    My new to me 15-7:)

Thanks:) These days $300 for a functional pre-lock non-MIM Smith feels like getting it for free lol I like guns like this, this thing was used as a belt ornament from day 1 and it definitely shows.....someone even scrubbed the recoil shield and cylinder face with a bronze brush so the metal is...

    My new to me 15-7:)

I picked this up recently, it's a security trade in 15-7. For $300 I'm happy with it, timing is good, not much endshake. I wasn't looking for a museum piece and wanted something I can actually shoot and carry. I replaced the ratty half falling apart Uncle Mikes grips with a used set of period...

Modern Cop Carrying S&W Revolver, Great Pic!

I like salty old big city cops, they're the types that have pulled me over for speeding and let me go because I'm a CO or because I have vet plates. They have the time in to do pretty much whatever they want, they've been they're and done that, they don't care if their duty gear is worn or what...
