    Fantasy gun thread

Bob, with all due respect, you do realize this is the S&W Forum? To each his own however. All my very best, Joe {who has carried and used J-Frames for the last 47 years}.

I was really okay before I heard about N-Frames

The nice thing about this "addiction" if you are going to have it, I can't think of a better group than the members of this Forum to have it with. All my very best to all my fellow collectors, Joe.

A Unique Performance Center 629-3 Fixed Sight 45 Colt

A very, very neat find. Out of curiosity ,were you aware of this or did it come out of the "blue" ? You just never know what treasures lurk out there. All my very best , Joe.

1/29/2018: LATEST INFORMATION ON THE CMP 1911 PISTOLS!

My guess is that most pistols will be handled just like the rifles, rack, service, and maybe "correct". Any rare or mint will go to CMP auction. I cannot see getting a mint collector by the "luck of the draw", that practiced ended over 30 plus years ago for the M1 sales. Rather than wishing...

    Gun show 38/44

As I have said before, I have a couple of Fitz type revolvers that fit into my collection of period police type guns. I enjoy shooting them and see no problem with them. They come from another time and they did things differently there. Interestingly enough I have had a discussion with a top...

    Persinger Ivory Grips?

My friend jag312 and rburg are right, the price is forgotten when you are admiring the quality Paul always delivers.

    Persinger Ivory Grips?

I have several sets of stocks from Paul and you are correct , they are the best. Carved stocks are more than $450. but the only non carved I have from him are on a 1911. It is a shame the sale of old ivory so difficult but as a Texan dealing with another Texan you should be OK. Good luck with...

    A Most Righteous Gentlemen Deal

I too have made some great friends thru and on this Forum. Another one of the benefits and rewards of sharing a common hobby with good people. All my very best, Joe.

Gun store employees that are just plain full of it...

Guys, I have reached a point in my life where I pretty much just deal with professional collector shops and dealers. There is virtually no BS and everyone pretty well knows and understands the value. You are not going to creep up on something but you will get fair value for your dollar and...

    That Sinking Feeling I Had

Perhaps good can yet come out of this if people wake up and work out some planning and preparation and not just bend over and kiss your goodbye.

    Another 327 Federal from Ruger

I took delivery of a 5inch blued GP100 from Lipsey's last Friday and I am impressed. Haven't been to the range yet but I like everything about it from the front sight to the stocks.

    .44 HE 3rd Model in .44-40 and a surprise 2nd Model

SDH and wordsmith are right on the money, Hamilton Bowen for sure.

    Gun show 38/44

rburg , a great comment with a lot of truth to it. I often wonder how many of the people saying that the Fitz triggers are dangerous actually have any experience with them. I have several and while I do not carry them, it is more for liability than worry about how dangerous they are. In any...

    Ivory, Gold, Engraving, 357, WOW!

A fantastic work of art! For my thoughts on stocks, I like those that are on it. I also would not object to having them carved as well. It however needs to please the owner and the owner only. As I said in the beginning, Fantastic work of Art! All my very best, Joe.

    7 .357 magnums or 5 .44 specials

I actually use and carry both, 681 Performance Center 7 shot 357 and a 696 5 shot 44spec. The 357 for city and the 44 special in the field when prairie dog shooting loaded with shot shells for snakes.

    Fuzzy Farrant ????? maybe.

    Remington 870 w/ detachable mag

I too am looking forward to seeing and handling this new model. I do have a Valtro 12 ga. pump with a detachable magazine that I find to be a little unhandy. Hope the Remington is better.

38/44 HD with MICRO sights and Fuzzy Farrant stocks...Gun Show Find

THREEDFLYER, a very neat find. In my humble opinion your stocks look like ones made by Walter Stark. If SG688 is up and online you will get a more accurate opinion. None the less a way cool find that many of us would be proud to own. All my very best, Joe.
