A couple weeks back a gentleman posted an inquiry on the Forum regarding his S&W .22 M&P.

I felt as though he might be looking to value the gun for sale.

He got his questions answered by myself and members here.

I private messaged the gentleman and inquired about the possibility of this S&W .22 M&P being available to purchase.

He responded indicating that I could shoot him an offer and see where we go from there.

Well, this is where we went from there.:D

BAM!

JimmyReb met with my wife and I and enjoyed a most enlightening dinner together at a mutually agreed upon location in Roanoke, Texas.

It was a beautiful drive on a sunny winter day.

It was a most wonderful meal with great conversation.
JimmyReb was ready to part with the S&W .22 M&P so we did the deed.

It was so much better face to face than the shipping and all that normally happens when I buy.

This 'non-model marked' S&W Model 45 .22 M&P shipped in June of 1978. It is one of the 135 frames that were assembled and shipped.

I made a friend that day and will remember that for a long time.

enjoy,

I saw the serial number and I had to go check to see if mine was still here!!!

I've got C 8833425 and it's a marked Mod 45.

I'm gonna' send mine back to get a nickel finish .... factory of course!:D

Great score Bruce. Congratz.

great story, great gun. What else could you ask for? I've made several face to face deals with good folk met here and on Ruger forum as well. Nice when it can be done FTF, in state, no paperwork required, get to see the gun in person and make the acquaintance of the seller.

I too have made some great friends thru and on this Forum. Another one of the benefits and rewards of sharing a common hobby with good people. All my very best, Joe.

Congratulations, got got a BEAUTY S&W out of it too! I occasionally shoot with another Forum member that I made a trade with a few years back. Prior to that we did not know each other. Bob

I have met some great people through the Forum, and visited with them in Colorado, Missouri, and Zurich Switzerland. There's another one in Washington state I will meet one of these days.

I have always wondered if Smith and Wesson ever built a nickel Model 45 from the ground up. Never got a good answer from Roy when I polled him.

I hear some were engraved and then nickeled. I would like to see an original nickeled gun from Smith without all that engraving stuff.:)
