Stump the forum-4006 heavy barrel??? what is it?

These pistols appear to have been made in 1993. My fading memory seems to recall that Smith had an early problem with some .40 caliber agency barrels developing cracks. These pistols might have been the revision, with the label indicating the difference. Once the suspect pistols were all...

This magazine Must Have A yellow Follower

Yellow (and orange) were used in the early '90s. Blue is latest revision for .40 S&W. The .45 mags went from orange to yellow to black. The 10mm is still white. Since the guns were discontinued, there was never a revision for the mag followers ;)

    3rd Gen Aluminum Finish Mistake

If the pistol has any value to you, and you intend to use it protection, send it off to S&W. They'll check the tolerances to make sure the bead blasting didn't damage anything. If all is well, they'll reanodize it properly. If the pistol is just something for range plinking, use the cheapest...

    3rd Gen Aluminum Finish Mistake

Finishing professionals do not bead blast to remove anodizing. They chemically strip it, so that the dimensions of the aluminum are not affected. Just google it, lots of strippers available.

FOUND! Where to buy FBI "palm swell" grip?

Glad you like it. I picked it up back when I had numerous 45xx pistols. Now I'm down to one and never got around to putting the grip on it.

    Factory Ported 625??

The only factory ports on a 625 would be those on the .45 Colt PC models. One version used a standard profile barrel with a single port, while I believe the others used the MagnaPort style. The only .45 ACP model I know of to leave the factory with any sort of port was the V-Comp. For a long...

Stealth Safety for CS45 and 4513TSW in NJ

This is a single side safety that was made for me by the PC back in the '90s. It is much flatter than the standard safety. I know it fits the CS45 and the 45xxTSW (with rail) for sure. I believe it also fits the CS40. Light wear to internal contact areas. $76 shipped

    3rd Gen 10mm

The trigger on the early DAO models is so sweet because the hammer is already half-cocked by the action of the slide. With a little tuning they almost feel like a single action. The tang looks smaller because the slide is longer in the rear, to cover the cocked hammer.

    4506 & 1006 D.A.O. conversion?

The factory made around 400 of the model 4546, in three seperate runs. Here is a nice one below. The 1046 and 4546 (set up for 45 Super), are just about the perfect woods pistols. The conversion parts used are from the recent 4586TSW, and should be in plentiful supply.

    4506 & 1006 D.A.O. conversion?

The factory is your best bet. If you no longer want a safety, they can replace it with a flat Firing Pin Retainer.
