Best 44 Special Ammo For Target Shooting?

FWIW, I train/practice with what I use. I roll my own, so that's easier for me to do. When you have a powder puff load you use frequently, then switch to full power, POA and POI are not the same. So much factory loaded ammo is made to be safe in older pistols. Therefore, pay attention to the...

Can I see your work benches?

Bench got cleaned off at the start of the pandemic, so it's ready for projects, unlike in this pic.

    Mecurochrome

Never liked Mercurochrome. Didn't work for me and stained. Now iodine - that's a whole 'nuther matter. It WORKED. Dangerous as it was, I found that a dilute solution of iodine in water to be a slam dunk killer of sore throats. When I found clear iodine, I switched over. Still have some, but...

    Any Magna-Port shooters here ?

I have several. In my case, I find it to be most effective with short barreled magnums. Been using this since 1990, so I have had a bit of time to test it out.

Been a number of years since I last used a Zippo...

I have a couple Zippo's. I replaced the internals before I used them with Thunderbird butane inserts. I can see the fuel level through the transparent chamber and if I don't use them for a while, the butane stays in them, unlike the lighter fluid in the standard Zippo insert. Good thing about...

    Film camera's

I just retrieved my Bessler 23CII with dual dichro color head, Schneider Componon S lens and Mornic Unicolor analyzer from storage. Anybody interested, PM me. You can pick it up or pay shipping and you can have it. It is too good to throw away.

    1911 Barring that, a .357 or 44Spl - S&W of course.

    696 Happy?

You will not be sorry you got the 696! Happy to assist. :) As to the 696 comparison to 29, It's the difference between L frame (586) to N frame (29). The 696 has a K frame grip and is round butt (RB), so it's comfortable and helps to avoid printing for CCW. I've been breaking in my holster...

    696 Happy?

Big fan of the 44Spl, because it is special! Been wearing my 696ND in a Don Hume and it's only slightly larger overall than the same brand holster with my 13-3 3" RB. 5 rounds of 250g SWC over 6.5g W231 = a lot of smashem downrange. I have to admit the 13 offers 6 rounds of 357, but I'm a big...

    Animal Abuse-Terrible Treatment

This was Kayla when we first got her. Had her for almost 13 years. Loving little girl. Our current girl is a rescue - tossed on the street by breeders when she was @ 4 1/2. Skin and bone, afraid but loving and not a mean bone in her. Here she is when we got her. And here she is after...

    S&W 627-0, 1989, 1 of 2500 - opinions please

I bought one in '89. Here's a target I shot with it. Mine has Culina square butt grips on it. There's too much barrel for a round butt IMO. Also, easier to control for me. I draw better with a revolver than I do with a pencil. I can't draw stick figures proportionately. :) ETA Here it is...
