Ziva recently celebrated her arbitarily appointed birthday on 9/01-she's a rescue and was approximately 1 when I got her 11 years ago. Burgie will be 2 in January and belongs to my son and daughter in law. He's with me almost as much as with them lol. They got him when he was 3 months old-we think he's a Chihuahua/Italian Greyhound mix, also a rescue.

They're best buddies and a ton of fun when they're together. Burgie helps keep Ziva young lol.

My neighbor has an AB, so the mentions of them here were interesting to me. He looks much like notsofast's. He is youngish and kind of wild, but just cries and wags his tail when he sees our dog. He and Ted are buddies.

Protocall that's pretty funny. He picks up 7'L 4"D fence post. He's never seen a stick he didn't want to fetch. But there's zero chance he's giving it to you. He wants you to chase him. Then he lays down and chews it into pieces

I had a dog like that quite some time ago. I'm not blaming him. He only had one toy as a puppy, and it was a stick!

You guys are killing me. We just had to put down our beloved Peggy Sue. This is the 4th dog we have had to put down. I can't do it again.

That is heartbreaking to read and I offer my sincere condolences. In over 40 years of rescuing we have said goodbye to a lot of pets but we quickly rescued another as there are always animals out there that need a home and a hurting heart to burrow themselves into.

I think Peggy Sue would approve.

I bet you'll be glad to get things back to normal and get your dog home. Man's best friend. I guess we can count the women in that saying too? I've never been without a dog since I've been old enough to remember. We love dogs and tend to spoil our animals. This is Rosie and she was a rescue dog through Pet Adoption at 3 months. She's 7 years old now. Lots of company to my wife and me.
Lots of pretty dogs in this thread. Thanks for all the good pictures.

StepDog

This is my step daughters pooch, in one of her more intelligent moments.

Good dog with some strange habits. When she's happy to see you she jumps up on your leg and sprinkles your shoes... without fail.
