    Pre-15 K38 Combat Masterpiece

Catalog dates it to 1955. If it is all original I'd say it's worth at least $500. I have one that is blued that is about a year newer. it is one of the best shooting K-Frames I have. I paid $200 for it about 17 years ago. Jim

Very few people vote...but I do

First of all, no politics. Don't want to get any dings or have the thread locked. We had the opportunity to vote today in my hometown on whether to continue a local option sales tax for another 10 years. Missus Fan and I went in at about 1600 hrs. Polls had been open for at least 8 hours. As we...

What should I be afraid of now?

I read on the internet (if it's on there it HAS to be true) ISIS is planning an attack on America on July 4th. Don't know about you, but I'll be ready. Only thing in this world I'm Skeered of is Missus Fan, who is going through menopause, and the IRS. Both can kill me....and have...

    Drove 2 old "FORD"s today

That Mustang should fix up nice. I have a client who is an older widow. She has a '67 Mustang convertible. 289 with a 4 speed. Has less than 100,000 miles on it. I have driven it several times and it drives great. Best part of the story is her late husband won it in a poker game! Really...

    Clipdraw on Airweight 637

I don't have any experience with one that attaches with tape but I have me reservations. Seems it would be very easy for the adhesive to break. I used one on my M642 that attaches by screwing it onto the right side of the receiver just below the cylinder. To be honest I didn't like this carry...

    Help identify my .22LR

In the condition you describe I'd say $750 is reasonable. I have a 4 screw K-22 that is from about that era that was my late Fathers. Personally I wouldn't take $1,000 for it. It ain't worth that to anybody else, but to me it's priceless. Jim

    Help identify my .22LR

Welcome to the Forum. You have what we call a K-22. It was made in 1956. Within about a year they re-named this one the Model 17. The other numbers you mention that were not on the butt are assembly numbers which have no meaning. These are great revolvers, and lots of fun to shoot. Show a...

The Andy Griffith Show: An Observation

I actually quoted Barn today when I submitted my latest PI column for the newspaper. I am talking about child custody cases, something I have been very successful in investigating. I mentioned I advise my clients to keep a journal. This will help them remember events, can be used in court...

It's a .38 Military and Police 2nd Model, made in 1902. Looks like a pretty nice one. Jim

The Andy Griffith Show: An Observation

It's my favorite show of all time. No cussing, no nudity and no real violence. Just a homey little town I would love to live in. My favorite characters are Rafe Hollister for one. I had a comment on doctors yesterday about the episode where Ainge took the county nurse up to his farm to give him...

Do you have guns at home?

I don't need to worry about it. I take the Rafe Hollister view of doctors: "When I was born I had my Momma, when I die I'll have the undertaker.....don't see any need to mess things up in between". We need more guys like Rafe.:D Jim

Is this problem confined to tracfone? Called by my own #.

You can walk into any Wally World or several other places and buy a Trac phone. I had one I used in my investigative services so my target would not know my real cell number. I paid cash at the store, and continued to when I bought minutes. I suppose somebody with access to the stores video...

Training Logbooks do you keep one and would it help in a SD shooting ?

I'm not real sure keeping records of range practice would help you. If you shoot a lot I could see a prosecutor telling the jury you are a "gun nut" and making you look bad. However formal training should be documented. A few years ago I took Massad Ayoobs two day MAG 20 class. Took copious...

    Wisdom from Dad

In two days my Dad will have shuffled off this mortal coil 21 years ago. Still miss him.:( He had a lot of good advice. He was a master craftsman. He told me "measure twice, cut once". Also said "if we don't have time to do it right the first time, how will we ever have time to do it again?"...

Holster for concealed carry of N-frame revolver

It's a bit different, but I used to carry J,K and N-Frame revolvers in a Bianchi Belly Band. Used properly, at belt level under a bloused tucked in shirt even an N-Frame disappears. It is also very comfortable. You just rip the shirt out and draw. Re-holstering is a bit of a problem as you have...

Going to church later on today...

This subject seems to come up frequently here, and with the recent atrocity in Charleston it gives us pause. I have been carrying every time I was in church since Sept. 11, 2001. I have read several articles that state houses of worship will be targets of terrorists. Some of them quoted high...
