.44 Hand Ejector First Model (Triple Lock) question

I also have a 4" nickel TL. Good shooter with Trail Boss and 240 gr. LSWCFPs. They are not as rare as a LH 24-3 3" Combat if there are plus or minus 15,000 of them.

    moon clip use

I have the Ranch products tool and the Dillion Precision one, but I tend to use the 1/2" pipe almost exclusively (mine is copper). With it the empties fill up the tube (six at a time) and I just empty them into my brass box or bucket, or directly into the tumbler. I keep the Ranch tool in my...

How to check after action prices on GB?

I have read here on the forum a while ago that there is a way to check historical sales prices on GB, but I have yet to figure out how to do it. So, for instance you could get an idea of what 696s, or Registered Magnums, etc. are going for. Can someone enlighten me, please?

what is it about the 27 snub everyone likes ?

In my mind, it's the way the ejector rod housing comes up at the end and flows perfectly into just enough extra barrel. This blending balances the overall appearance of the piece, similar to the way a woman's thigh blends into her . . . well, northward of there.

Model 27 converted to .44 special

Yes, Pete I have and yes it is. I have a 3" 624 but my issue was more with the round butt than the barrel being too short (I still like the Lew Hortons as well). Nevertheless, as stated above the thought of combining the Cadillac of revolvers with the best revolver cartridge made perfect sense...

What's Your IDEAL Woods Bumming Pistol??

I walk in the woods almost daily - usually always a .44 Special with me (sometimes a 1911). Carry them hunting, berry picking, scouting, etc. Have light ones (329PD, 296), heavier ones (21-4, 624, & a 3.5" 27-2 converted), older ones (4" Triple Lock, 5" 3rd Model), and several M29s. Most are...

    .45acp reloads ok for a .45 M&P FS

Bad idea. To be certain no one else is potentially at risk with this ammo, you should soak the primers in oil (used motor will work) for a few months to be sure they become inert. A quarter inch in the bottom of a bucket or plastic bin or tray and you can stand them up with only the primers in...

    Show us your dog!

This is Ellie May (originally named Stretch by a co-worker who gave her to me). She is somewhere around 2 yrs old. I'm told she is half Blue Tick and half Plott hound. BTW, she is out of doggy jail now, and following her nose . . .

    38/44 Conversion to 44 Spl

I had David Clements in Virginia convert a scratched up 3.5" 27-2 to .44 Special. I think he only does single action work now (?). His cost was about half of HB. Took a year. I pondered it for a long while. The salient points to me were raised above as well: S&W never made a 3.5" .44 Spl, the...

    Triple Lock Shooter

Very nice. I have a similar one. Sure looks like it's been polished a bit, but exactly what you were looking for. I shoot mine using Trail Boss reloads - clean, accurate, although a little more expensive.
