Strange coincidence. My new 5906 is also a police trade-in (Detroit). Grip is definitely worn, but the rest of the gun looks new. Price: $325.

Those are very nice looking grips. I'm toying with the idea of replacing the one's on my recently purchased (LE trade-in) 5906 - they're pretty worn. I was thinking I would just go OEM black (if I even replace them), but these "wooden" ones look really nice - are they available anywhere?

Thanks, mikeruns. Realistically, I shouldn't keep both (it's the money). I have a .38 to use if a second gun is needed - and shotguns in the house. Out of the two guns, if I could only keep one, would the SW9VE or the 5906 the better choice?
