CANTED REVOLVER BARRELS - THE TRUTH AS I SEE IT

Canted barrel back to SW 2 times! A few years ago, I purchased a new 686 SSR! As a competition shooter with thousands of rounds down range in S/A and revolver I immediately noticed the clocked front sight! My eyes wanted to correct it somehow and it literally made me dizzy trying to "align...

    The "perfect" rifle powder?

If this is about reloading then it's about finding the powder that our barrel, cartridge, and specific bullet likes. 4895 has for years been the got to powder for starting loads in many cartridges. Then experimentation around accuracy, velocity and bullet performance reveals what powder/load...

    Model 617 Oddity?

Stuff happens! I once got a call from a Sacramento DA asking if I ever owned a 40-foot flatbed trailer. UH no! It seems that when I purchased a S&W M60 from a tax lien sale that the FFL registered the firearm's assembly number! The number showed up as a 40 foot flat bed trailer that had been...

    RCBS Powder Baffle

I also have powder measures with and without baffles. My understanding from an article years ago that consistency was improved when the "hopper" was over half full and negligible when under half full! Meh! :)

M14 or K14 What is correct?

"Police trade-in" ammo, how to check manufacture date?

Why is date of manufacture important? If you are wondering about safety that's another matter. Speer should be your source for that. In most cases the stuff is stored within reason and should be safe to shoot. Did the vender mention anything about testing the stuff? Smiles,

what would you consider to be realistic effective accuracy"

Card carrying Precision or PPC Expert/Master ranked shooter! As a retired B/E (Precision) and PPC competitor, my observation, yes, card carrying, Expert/Master competitors could on a good day do the above Post #12 with highly refined competition handguns and ammo!:)

Wouldnt want to meet this in a dark alley

A bit like the very effective 45ACP "pin" load bullet from Speer eons ago! The "flying ashtray"! Probably a good threat eliminator too! :)

Using 20ga brush on inside of BCG of M&P 15?

Brushes, Brushes, Brushes I have a variety of brushes purchased at a medical supply store. Lots of different sizes for cleaning medical equipment that also fit just about every round opening you'll find in firearms. You may also find sprays and powders for keeping hands dry. And "Mole Skin" for...

    POA to POI

A typical wound channel is approximately 4" in diameter! :) POI vs. POA is a matter of barrel time, bullet weight and velocity. Typically, a heavier slower bullet will impact higher a closer range than a lighter faster bullet. A shorter barrel will also have an affect due to shorter barrel...

    Cannot Remove Cylinder Stop

A CASE FOR SINGLE ACTION SHOOTING

The case for SA shhting From the OP! "I submit that all single/double action revolvers should be shot single action unless you need to get off a fast round for defense at a close distance. If you are pointing your revolver at a threat to get him to stand down, then of course it should not be...
