K-22 box, Any value ot it?

A very early blue box like that with the Helpful Hints pamphlet would probably fetch $50 to $75 on eBay. Possibly $100 on a good day. Depends on the overall condition of the box, which can't be seen in your photos. Those early blue boxes seem to be more scarce than the gold boxes.

Tactical Bacon - P.T. Barnum was right

Yeah, years ago canned bacon was fairly common. You could find it on supermarket shelves. The bacon back then was uncooked though. Yoder’s bacon has gotten good taste reviews from a few different sources I’ve read. I bought 2 cans about a year ago, but I’ve yet to try them. We’re going camping...

Tactical Bacon - P.T. Barnum was right

PT was right. Slap on a silly black rifle label and mark up an already expensive item an additional 33%. 1 Can of Yoder’s Canned Bacon

pre model 27 on gb for 25.000

So seeing as this piece left the factory basically 1/2 in the white and was later sent out for plating by a distributor, I don't really call this a true factory original piece. Now if Smith & Wesson itself had subbed out the gold plating and then had the pieces returned to the factory for...

    Restore grips or salvage?

Unless you have a project where you need restored grips or those early medallions, I'd just toss the grips unmolested in your grip box and leave them be. Some day you may come into a gripless piece in similar rough shape and they'll be a perfect match. Or they may be good barter later on for...

    Hot shower while camping?

The solar shower works very well as others mentioned. If it's not too cold out I usually skip the hot water and use a couple of gallons of cold water to clean up with. Brrrrrr, but it does wake you up first thing in the morning. If water is scarce, like in desert camping, I use a virgin one...

I wouldn't mind having my 1970 Hemi Challenger back again.

    Will vs Trust

Like everyone else recommends, talk to an attorney, not an estate planner. $3000 sounds awfully high unless your estate is quite complicated. I just recently within the last year had my attorney write a new will, new P.O.A., Advanced Health Care Directive and a new living trust. Total cost, if...

    slobby neighbors

Best advice if you can afford it. It varies city by city, state by state, but "nuisance" ordinances ofter apply and are actionable in court. Often all it takes is a letter from your attorney about the offending issues to make the neighbor see the light. At least it worked in my particular case...

In my world of .22 Rimfire rifles

Very nice 9422. Was that a special edition with the pistol grip stock with corresponding lever or is that a customized gun. I don't recall seeing one before, but I really like the looks of it. The barrel looks longer than standard as well. My '81 vintage 9422 is jealous.

    Noise level..6" vs 4"

"Tremendous" is subjective, but generally the shorter the barrel, the louder the report. Though a puny 22 may not seem loud, ear protection should always be employed when possible. Tinnitus and hyperacusis are both miserable to live with and permanent, with no known cure at this time.

    Can Cops detect radar detectors?

I remember reading an article and seeing a picture in the local paper some years back picturing an old, beat up camper / pickup truck combo parked on the side of the Interstate in Washington. That beater camper was radaring the highway and radioing descriptions ahead to pursuit cars to pull over...

    K-22 1st Model question.

Lots of interesting information and speculation that’s about to drop off the forum due to age. I’ll keep it alive for another 12 months with a well-used March 1940 specimen that letters with the Magnas and Humpback Hammer. Anyone else????

    triple lock question

Perhaps this is the same Oregon TL as previously discussed here http://smith-wessonforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/5401039...091026472#3091026472

    Want a 1940...??...

More than a few K22 Outdoorsman letter well into 1940. I have one that letters in April 1940 and have read of others so they are out there. A much less expensive alternative to a 2nd model K22.

44Spl Triple Lock Spotted: Have SN#, need advice

Is that Triplelock in Grants Pass? Sure sounds like it. If so, I've seen it. It was so rough looking that I didn't even bother to ask about it. I'd pass on it for anything more than maybe $250 max. I wouldn't even consider it for a shooter. It's that bad.
