I have an old box from a K-22 that was sold a very long time ago.
The box is Royal Blue with steel clips in the corners. One of the corners broke down and the corner seam is cracked nearly to the box top.
Other than that it's okay. The box bottom seems okay.
It says K-22 Masterpiece.
There is no other marking on the box that I can recall.
It has 1 paper in it that shows a cut away view of the revolvers features.

Is there any value to it even with the corner being damaged?

Yes,but not huge value, perhaps on the order of $25 or so.A fixed price offering here would probaly yield results. The big value is in the gold boxes or earlier.

Would posting a couple of quick pictures of it help?
If yes, I can get a couple posted tonight

How do I know how much to ask for it?
Do I ask high and see where it goes?
I can take the criticism if somebody were to think I was off my rocker for asking too much, but I really don't want to look like a bigger idiot than I already have done here today

K-22 Masterpiece box ?for sale?

Here are the pics of the box.
It's hard to see well, but the picture of the box corner shows that the cardboard has spilt at the corner bracket.
The original pistols serial number and price $74.00 is written on the bottom in grease pencil
I don't intend to sell it at the moment, but I am really curious of the possible value.
It will be for sale later though.

A very early blue box like that with the Helpful Hints pamphlet would probably fetch $50 to $75 on eBay. Possibly $100 on a good day. Depends on the overall condition of the box, which can't be seen in your photos.

Those early blue boxes seem to be more scarce than the gold boxes.

VERY interesting box.
That is the lowest K number I have ever personally observed on a blue box.
That number is still well within the 5 screw era, and I have seen many K frames with higher numbers in their original gold boxes. The five screws fade away in the mid 250,000's.
NEAT.

That Helpful Hints is worth $20, the box $35-65 if the top is clean.

I obtained a ship date on that gun- Feb, 1955.
That is a very early blue box, probably the earliest use of one for a K-Masterpiece that I have seen.

I'll move this thread to the revolver section to keep it archived there.
