I just bought a minty 1959-60 M27 S/N S200351 5" barrel with all the lettering in gold. Was this a factory option or not. What does it do to value? There is no box or papers and the previous owner was no help. Thanks

Well I don't think the wax coating is the problem. I tried bulk Blazer (with coating of wax) and Blazer individualy boxed (no wax) and Federal Target (no wax) and Stingers, CCI SV and Imperial, Dominion and they all would NOT eject without banging the ejector against wood.

I found brushing at the feed ramp with brass brush helps when I get stovepipes. Take your caps of before posting again ; )

The closes I get to hunt with a pistol is my Rossi Ranch Hand in .357 Magnum 12" barrel, for some reason its treated as a rifle ; ) I have a hip holster for it to boot.

Well I ended buying the 686-2 since the no dash sold before I made a call. The no dash was $100 more anyway. Now I wait for paperwork and delivery.

Good so now keep trying different ammo you maybe surprised what will work. My Model17 ejects(from cylinder) without any force only Federal Champion bulk ammo. Its copper clad 36gr 1260fps cartridge. Less fouling too.

Gdauth check how good your extractor holds a cartridge, it may need a slight mod.

I am looking at two 686 6" with Silhouette front sight. One is 1980 no dash with non-fluted cylinder. The other is 1985-86 dash 2 with fluted cylinder. Both are mint. No box or papers. Any idea of fair value and rarity? Thanks
