    My 29-2 of 1975

Congratulations! Love the 6.5". I hope you enjoy it. I've only recently started shooting my higher end guns...and enjoying them more!!

    Picked up Model 15-3

Congrats! A 15 is a hole in my collection, but at my age I'm pretty satisfied with what I got. Personally, I might be inclined to keep those Pach's on the gun. It's gotta be a wicked steady hold with them.

    Model 14-4 Instructions

Yep, good catch. I did not notice the rev date on D Brown's example. In contrast, mine simply reads "05-01-0177 S & W No. 5100A"

    Model 14-4 Instructions

No, not exactly the same. The one obvious difference that I see at a glance is at the bottom of the first page. The company/owner name and address is presented differently.

    Model 29-2

Here is the packaging as described by Chad. This being a 1980 model and I am the original owner. What you see is all original with exception of lining of presentation case. I relined it with the guidance of a forum member.

    K38’s. School me

I think my 14 was the first handgun I ever purchased. I left home in the late '70's for an AAS degree and then started fighting fire on a helicopter crew for the BLM in Lewistown, MT. The reason I picked this 14-4 was because my Dad gave me his '48 K22 that he bought after he came back from...

Model 63. No dash. (.22/.32 Kit Gun Stainless) value please.

How cool! GeoJelly it was actually at a Buttrey's over on the east end of town. It was real near the married student housing complex I was living in...while single. But I used to live a few blocks from the West Laramie Fly Store. I fished the plains lakes year round, even between classes...

Model 63. No dash. (.22/.32 Kit Gun Stainless) value please.

I haven't followed pricing on Smith's for quite a while. So yeah, it sounded high to me too. But after reading other replies it sounds like it may be in line with the norm. What a great revolver. I bought mine new from a grocery store in Laramie, WY in the mid/late 80's while in Engineering...

The ultimate Highway Patrolman thread.including N frame ser# ranges

Hey Miami JBT - Those Pach's look GREAT on those guns. Tempts me to do the same.

    A Stainless Day

Congrats, outstanding score with those two. I had those same Pach's on my no-dash 63 since shortly after I bought it in '86 or '87. After I dug it out of "storage" 8 years ago I put on the J-Frame Combats. Love them too. But no pin on my barrel.

    Let's Share M18 pics

While there are plenty of Smith's I'd like to add to my collection, I'm sure as heck glad I have a Model 18. This is a '78 dash 4 with TT and TH. LOVE the balance and how it shoots.

    22 Handguns

Since early 2020 the vast majority of my weekly shooting has been rimfire handguns and rifles. Am original owner of most. Of note is the '48 K22 that my Dad bought shortly after returning from overseas WWII. I installed Volquartsen internals in the two Mark IV's. The 1.8 lb triggers coupled...

    Model 18-2 value?

Yeah, near mint at that price is a steal in my opinion. Now you can afford period correct stocks if you choose. Mine is a 18-4 that other than an initial shooting after i bought it, had become a safe queen. But I couldn't stand it any longer and it's in rotation for plinking pleasure There's...

    Guess Who Called (Stock/Grip Related)

Relaxing on my patio last evening and a call from Idaho comes through. And it is Craig Spegel! I honestly don't remember how many years it's been since I called him with my interest in boot grips for my 442. Well, now I'm up near the top of the list and I oughta have a nice Christmas present...

4" Model 10 OWB Leather Holster Choices

Greetings, One of my Model 10's is a dash 6 with only holster wear. It even has original stocks in excellent condition. Now that I occasionally scrounge for kindling in the woods behind my subdivision home (North GA), this revolver is screaming to be on my belt. After all, there are...

    Model 29-2

I bought this one new in the early '80's. SN close to OP's. Only thing not original is the case relining by me. Actually, I traded two handguns for it at the store. Lewistown, MT

    686 prices

Bought mine Nov 2, '91 (I have original receipt in the box). A dash 3. $319.99 from B&E Guns in Cypress, CA. Long story short, the gun was practically in a time capsule for decades (jobs, college, moving, family). I did wear it in a shoulder holster during the Rodney King riots in SoCal. I...
