question: grip/stock pin for model 66

It's a solid pin. I'll go easy with the hammer and see if there's any chance it will go in... Added: It won't fit. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Thanks, everyone!

question: grip/stock pin for model 66

Hello, folks. I'm a bit flummoxed by this. I got some new grips for my 66-2 3". When I finally went to put them on, they wouldn't stay put, and I noticed (please see image 1) that the grip/stock pin is not part of the frame. So looking at the parts diagram, I see that that part is called a...

I pity the pith of the pig when you produce the pistol.

    Picture request: S& W 357's

This one is new to me. I think the ".357" written on the grips is a little tacky (I love the look of the grips otherwise), but I will be changing the grips anyway. I think it's a pretty nifty revolver...

What is the average price for a 686 3"

The canted barrel occurs when they screw the barrel onto the frame without aligning the front sight with the rear; the barrel is "off" by some degrees.

What I don't like about the new revolvers .

Could someone please post a picture of what is being discussed in this thread? I have no idea what's supposed to be different...looking at old and new guns right now

    66-3, before and after cleaning

Thanks for the comments! The grips are indeed Ahrends concealed carry boot stocks in FB(?) Maple with black stain, according to the package. I don't know what the FB means. I'm not sure if these are "THE" grips for the gun; I think they look good but I guess I'm always looking for something...

    66-3, before and after cleaning

This is a used 66-3 I've had for a while. It was rather grungy when I bought it, and I really couldn't get it clean with Ballistol, brass brush, and elbow grease. The cylinder face was a disaster, and there was also a good bit of crud on the side of the cylinder as well. The top strap was...

    686 picture thread

This is my most recent. It's a 686-5 6", prelock, and 7 shots, a combination I had been seeking for a while. So I think it's pretty cool!

    Model 66-2 3" value

I recently bought (and posted here) a 66-2 3" and it was $1200 on the nose. I saw one I liked and really didn't shop around after that, though.

    3" Performance Center .357

Just FYI, S&W calls the finish "black" rather than "blued" on the 586 L-comp. It is a matte black finish, so don't expect a traditional shiny blued revolver!

    Flight 66-2 has landed!

Hey everyone. I've wanted one of these for a long time, Model 66 with a 3" barrel. I haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, as I just picked it up yesterday. So I don't have a lot else to say about it. Anyway, without further ado... More pics: Imgur
