What is the most accurate current model S&W 9mm

Sig has the 210-5 9mm with 6" barrel but I think it is discontinued also. Aside from the custom 1911 mfgrs that will add a 6 inch barrel I dont think anyone but Glock makes a pistol today with 6" barrel. Considering the SW 41 does so well with 7" barrel, I dont think it would be way out of line...

Any chance of SW doing another 10mm pistol?

I have fallen in love with the 10mm and my SW 1006 makes me feel secure. Comparitively speaking my 1006 makes my 1911 45s seem prehistoric and puny in terms of power. The thing I envy about the Glocks is that a big 3rd party interest has sprung up such that there are after market suppliers of...

    10MM advice/needed

Could you please be a little more specific as to which parts were breaking? I have always heard they were tanks... especially after the FBI put the similar 1076 through their destructive testing... something like 10,000 hi power rounds without lubrication and barrel temps to 600 degrees etc.

    4506

A buffing wheel and polishing compound can make the whole slide shiny and hide the polished corners created when the holster has rubbed inside a leather holster for years. I guess I like the matt finish of the new stainless guns but after the corners get polished by the holsters I think it...

    4506

Hey Nun, in case you didn't otherwise know, that is the later model heavy duty 4506-1 model. I only mention it because you never made the distinction in your previous posts.

Interest in group update of SW web museum?

Here is a nicely executed collection of SW pistols but it is incomplete Modern Firearms - Handguns - S&W pistols I have so many questions so often about the many different models of SW guns that it is very frustrating and many questions are repeatedley asked in these forums. Wikipedia is the...

4506 mags with metal bottom plate?

Is there a conclusion or summary to the advice on magazines that new 4506 owners should know about? I think SW now offers the brand new mags for about $42 each now. What about the 4506 magazines that have orange followers and a steel bottom plate instead of a plastic bottom cap and the current...

    CDNN 4566

-------------------- I did call CDNN and talked to the salesman and he said they were all DAO only but he could be mistaken. As of wednesday last week there were still eleven in inventory. Better deal with 4586 ? Who has those for sale ?

    CDNN 4566

Here ya go. A crippled 4566. DAO only, cannot be cocked and no hammer to grab Developed for the boys they didnt think they could train away their revolver habits or trust with modern semi auto capability. Naw, I wouldnt have one at $389 plus $18 shipping and FFL transfer fee.

Finally shot my 4506...this thing is a laser...

I see you are new to this thread. What specific spring did you use and where did you get it ? Are you loading your own 45 Super or buying from Buffalo Bore ? There are no other sources are there ? If you are loading your own, where did you find the recipes ?

Finally shot my 4506...this thing is a laser...

The 4506 pistols get a bad rap because of heavy weight but if you put one on a scale you will find it weighs within one ounce of a full size 1911 Govt model. That is not to say a 1911 is small or light, you just have to remember the 4506 is an Offensive weapon and not designed to be a...

    4506

================= Well what-a-ya-know ! I had collected dozens and dozens photos of 4506 pistols from all the auction sites before I bought mine. I never even noticed the difference in hammers and triggers. I went and scrolled through my photos and I just now noticed that some of the -1...

    The skinny 9mm project

Naw man, it shoots real good. When we all go out hunting ducks my buddies feel the need for shotguns but I just pluck em out of the sky with my Mod 39 I hate to embarrass them like that so sometimes I shoot from the hip and then I miss a few.. Seriously , although it looks like it might...

    The skinny 9mm project

i spotted this in a pawn shop and it looked more horrible in real life than the pics show. I believe the previous owner had begun with a grinder to give it a melt job on the sharp corners and then realized it was probably a bad idea but by then the damage was done. The insides looked good and...

    Mags for S&W1911

I am very surprised to hear the SW 1911 is not compatible with mil specification 1911 magazines. Why did they call it a 1911 then when they had 645,745,845 and 945 variations to choose from ? To me the magazine compatibility is priority no 1 if you are going to call a gun a 1911.

    The skinny 9mm project

Take one very beat up mod 39-2 9mm that seems functionally complete and in good working order. Remove Grips and apply shrink wrap to handle Now there. Thinner handle Than the Keltec 380 but with good aiming 4 inch 9mm barrel. My primary CCW pistol now. Caliper on the handle now reads 3/4"...

My first S&W was this 39-2.

You may not realize this but I just found out that the mod 39 is a more concealable pistol than all the others I have ever owned and has become my primary concealed carry pistol. It has the potential for the thinnest handle of any pistol out there I think and the slide itself is already decently...

    4506

I think they may be the toughest 45 cal pistols ever made and the 4506-1 models are even tougher according to a guy at the Factory I talked to last week. Apparently they beefed up the frame and the slide with the -1 model. They did this with what they learned producing the 10mm variations...

Revolver better than auto for CCW?

I cant believe all the wussies comming out of the woodwork wanting to argue the difference between semi auto and revolvers. Whiney this and whiney that. If you're real serious about Concealed Carry you worry about your "plastic" shells left behind. see pics of my daily carry. Dont leave home...

Lee Factory Crimp vs Taper Crimp die ?

So far on all my rifle stuff I have only ever neck sized with collet dies and never needed to crimp. It is the pistol stuff I am gearing up for that is a bit confusing. 10mm first Thanks
