Model 327 R8/TRR8 moon clips to shoot 9mm?

When I say "blow out" they slightly open up like a tapered 9mm case.

Model 327 R8/TRR8 moon clips to shoot 9mm?

No, you would have to have the cylinder of the 327 R8 opened up to accept a 9mm case. Then you could shoot moon clipped 9mm through it, but then it would blow out 38/357 cases at the back end. Get a 929!

Things are starting to come together. 929

I'm just under 2 inches at 25 yards using a 147 gr Blue Bullet (.358). I use 3.4 grs of WST at 1.158" length...in a Starline Colt Short case. Last year I shot 6 shot major....this year 929!

    625-7 Performance center

I never saw one like yours. Mine is a 625-7 PC with a 5.25" barrel without the barrel lug. Mines CJM00XX.

    Model 41 at Olympics

There's a nice older (1985) book called Pistol Shooting written by Laslo Antal and Ragnar Skanaker. Its about International shooting and there's no mention of a 41 in it. They mention the High Standard, but say the "high" barrel line of the older pistols are harder to control in rapid fire.

    929JM

45 deg on the crown, and 11 deg on the throat. I bought the tools and cutting oil from Brownells. If you have access to .355, .356, and .357 jacketed bullet heads, push then thru the cylinder throats to see if you can detect differences. Its a crude way of checking cylinder throats, but it will...

    929JM

My 929 needed the barrel crown cut, and the barrel entrance throat cut too. When I received the gun, I mounted a scope on it and was shooting around 3-4" groups at 25 yards. After the barrel re-cutting, the groups went to just under 2" at 25 yards. That's fine for me. Also I'm shooting .358"...

    Shooting Chrony for Reloading Validation

My Pro Chrono Plus has worked fine over the years. I chrono at the same range position....and try to chrono on an overcast or a day where its just about to rain.

Looking for competition holsters for 686

I used a BladeTech Comp holster last year for my 686 6"pc. I like it and ordered one for my 929 and wife's 627. We have used the CR Speed holster...and like them, but like the simplicity of just putting the gun back in a holster without locking it in place. The A/A RaceMaster holster is popular...

    627 info/value request

This looks more like a retirement investment, than a shooter. Find out what its worth before you shoot it.

PC 627 or TRR8 for USPSA?

I think most of the A plus shooters in my area use a 929, or a 627 with a titanium cylinder and 6" model 27 barrel. The TRR8 would do good shooting steel, going from one target to another. But two on a target might be easier with a heavier gun, like the 5" 627 PC. I shot a 625 this year, just...

Searching for barrel for model 41

I had S&W drill and tap mine. Enjoy your gun. Just send them the barrel.

    PC 627-5 front sight

Push the front sight back towards the cylinder. Lift up the front of the sight, and pull it out. Coming out isn't too bad, but putting a new one in can be a struggle. Each gun is a little different. I've also had to file a little on a new front sight, so it would fit in.

Bullseye shooting with my JM Special

My 5.25" 625 is marked 625-7 and the serial # starts CJM. Mine also has a silver cylinder release button, not black like yours. The black release is correct.

    DOES KROIL "GET OLD"?

    Chamfer a 929 Cylinder

Mine seems to have a tiny edge cut on the titanium, and a little more on the extractor star. One thing to consider is that the entry point of the cylinder is larger than the 627 8 shot. While my 627 was chamfered by a well known revolver smith for faster reloads, I'm going to try the 929 without...

    Moon Clips?

Ranch Products moon clips work ok with Winchester, and they are about $75 per 100. Thats for their 8 shot-38spl moon clips. You have to call them to check a price, then send them a check. Understand, brass like Remington and Starline will fit looser in these moonclips. I use Ranch Products...

    929 986 9mm Help & One Dream

You can shoot it without the comp or cap. That's probably what I'll do. I've already seen one that had the last 1/2" removed and recrowned. And another like that, but then the lower rib was removed to make it look more like a traditional Model 27 barrel.

    929 986 9mm Help & One Dream

I see more of the DAA speed holster and moonclip holders that only one moonclip across the front of the belt. Daily home practice with your draw and reloads is going to make you faster. I like the BladeTech comp holster and the North Mountain moonclip holder, but I need to practice to get faster!
