    1964ish SW41 Strange Roll Marks

Did the Germans require the proofing done on guns sold through the US military exchanges (AAFES/PX/BX) to service members stationed there after World War Two?

    2025 Model 36-11 Review!

Nice review OP. However, I personally don’t like the front sight. I much prefer the ramp style to the half moon.

Current value of 4006 tsw chp

I picked this 4006 up last week for $375. Serial number begins with TFK, which I think makes it an early one. The plastic case it came with is for a M&P .40.

    5906 NOS mags

Thanks. I figure all the OEM mags are roughly 20-30+ years old, regardless of seller. The Trading Post link above also has some OEM 4006 mags with the original/early yellow followers. My 4006 is an early one and has the same mags. So, I ordered 3. Once they arrive, I'll figure out if they...

    5906 NOS mags

Where did one acquire such an item? And, did they have any for the 4006 series?

    Mint 39-2

Very nice OP. A nickel one followed me home this weekend too. I need to take some better pictures of it. Mine came with 3 mags, the box, manual/parts list, a card about adjusting the sight, wax paper, and partial tool kit (missing the cleaning rod and swab, but had the brush and screw...

    469 Nickel finish question.

As I mentioned above, I had a 669 years ago. Back then, if I wanted to upgrade to something else, I had to trade up. Now that I'm older and have a little more play money, I have been going back and buying the models I traded away. The nickel 469 is nice and would fill the spot in the...

    469 Nickel finish question.

Thanks. I was thinking the same, but wasn't sure. I owned a 669 in the late 80s and I have seen the brushed nickel 469s, and I thought they all had black/blued control parts. But, it's been years since I've seen one in person.

    469 Nickel finish question.

I personally haven't seen the pistol. A friend sent me pictures. Price tag says $699, which seems a little steep, but I think pawn shops mark up 100% from their cost. I'm trying to figure out if it was re-finished at some point. I don't know if it has the original box and associated materials.

    469 Nickel finish question.

A local pawn shop has a early 1984 "TAA" serial numbered 469 for sale. It's in a bright/polished nickel finish. I've seen several threads about the Ashland special edition variant in a brushed nickel but, did S&W ever make one in a polished nickel finish?

    9mm 2nd Gen variations

I just picked up a 559 today. It appears to be unfired, still has the original box, wax paper, came with all the warranty cards, owners manual, and other literature. The tool kit was unopened and it also has a red/orange chamber flag. Also one spare magazine, also wrapped in the wax paper.

    Cylinder "sticks" when opening.

Thanks for the replies. Vtgw938, you are correct in it hanging up on the same cylinders. The extractor/plunger rod is tight and doesn’t seem to be coming loose. I’ll try pushing the center pin forward to check for how close to flush it comes to the end of the rod, when I get home from the...

    Cylinder "sticks" when opening.

I have a Model 64-5 that I think is an early MIM parts gun. The cylinder randomly "sticks" when I try to open it. I have to cycle/rotate the cylinder to realign something and eventually it will open. It seems that when I push/thumb the cylinder release latch forward, it's not pushing the...

Can "Pawn Shop" engraving be buffed out?

I'm calling it pawn shop engraving from reading threads here. Some call it wriggle or wiggle engraving. From what I have read, it was done a lot by a company called Wolf and Klar back in the day. On this particular gun, it's through the original finish, mostly a scroll work pattern. Looks...

Can "Pawn Shop" engraving be buffed out?

I found a 1955 K-22 for sale. It has been "Pawn Shop" engraved. I was thinking I'd get it as a shooter. The gun overall is in good shape mechanically, locks up tight, etc. Original asking price is $850. Thinking about offering in the $600 range. Can the engraving be buffed out by somebody...

    686 no dash value-M mod?

Wasn't the problem more prevalent with certain.357 Magnum ammo and not with others? Something like certain 125 grain ammo primers?
