Hello, I have a 57 that is missing the front sight insert. I called S&W and they said it has to be cast in there. The repair guy said any decent gunsmith should be able to do this. He also said he would do it for 30 bucks or so. Should I try to find someone locally to do this? Or just go ahead...

Ok, I think I have an idea...kind of the arm that holds the cylinder? Well, the only number I saw there was a 3 digit number and it looked laser cut or something...but it was low, so I didnt figure it was the SN. Thanks
