Found a guy with a S&W 29-2 6 1/2". He said it is perfect except for a slight cylinder line. Has the presentation box which the blue is deteriorated. He said he will send it to me for $675 and I will have to pay $20 tranfer fee to my FFL. So for under 700 I could have another 29-2 (Already have a 8 3/8)
If you think it is not a bad deal, please leave me a few words of reassurance.
Thanks Ryan

If it truly only has a light culinder line, I would buy it if I were you. If you decide you don't want it, feel free to let me know where she is

In the condition described, sounds like an excellent buy.

A 6.5 with the pres box in the condition you describe, the thread should say "Look what I just bought"

Seriously it sounds like a great deal, I don't see too many 6.5 for sale by me, alot of 6" so I would jump on it!

I would already own it. As gunnut 44 said, lots of 6" ones around but not many 6 1/2".

In my area I looked for some time to find a real nice one. Even the 6" 29-2's were not perfect. I wanted one that had no scratches or worn off blue anywhere. Everyone I found had something wrong. Most 29-2's, I found for sale, had small dings and light sratches that showed up without even looking for them and most stocks had a ding or two. But what I found unusual with one 29-2 was when I swung the cylinder in to close, when the barrel was pointed down, the front of the cylinder hit the rear of the barrel. Sad thing, it had left quite a few dings on the cylinder and a score line all the way around the cylinder front as well as the left side of the barrel end was dinged. Then I found this one. Have the presentation case and paperwork, but the cleaning kit and screwdriver had wandered off. Oh, almost forgot. 3 years ago I paid $800. The other ones were less money but . .

It's easy for me to say spend your $$$ on a new gun..... Should I spend my money to have the rear axle rebuild on my truck?... had a bad day

I just bought an as new 6-1/2" 29-2 from a fellow Forum member for $875 delivered (shipped from Washington State to Virginia) so call it $825 for the gun alone. I'd say $675 is a great deal.

I never pay too much for fine examples...sometimes I might buy them too early, but the market always catches up. I buy the ones I want, so I am happy. I am not going to get hung up on a few dollars. Think back to how many times you passed on a revolver you wanted, but was just a little high. Now when I find it, its a LOT higher. Happens to me all the time. Be happy. Don't go to Applebees tonight, or for a few weekends, and buy it.
