    25-2 Pick Up

I bought my 25-2 6" in 1994 for $317.37 including tax. Fantastic condition and a very accurate shooter. If you reload, try some .45 Auto Rim brass - way easier than moon or half-moon clips.

    A 25-5 For My Collection

My friend Nelson Ford in Phoenix has a machinist he works with to remove a non-pinned ramp sight and make the slot so he can install a pinned patridge. He has done 3 for me. Once done, you cannot tell at all. He also does a great gold (brass) dot insert in a patridge sight.

    A 25-5 For My Collection

Congrats. I've been looking for a 25 in 45 Colt for quite a while, but I haven't found a 90%+ one with 3 Ts for a reasonable price. Saw one last week, but it had been ported.

    Model 41 Jamming

Thanks a ton to all. It appears that my thoughts about velocity not being high enough for full slide cycling are probably correct. I will keep the standard spring for now and run a brick of higher velocity 40 Gr rounds through it, then reassess. In the meantime, I will try to find some...

    Model 41 Jamming

I bought a 1983 mfr Model 41 w/box, tools, manual recently. No apparent sign that it was ever fired. Cleaned thoroughly and oiled lightly. Test fired with CCI Standard Velocity (1070 fps). Repeated jams. Cleaned again thinking it must be something I missed. Yesterday, same thing. Spent...

    Mini Collection.....

    Nice! It is an addictive hobby though... My addiction is primarily to 6" blues > 14-1, 14-2, 17-2 (8 3/8"), 17-2, 19-2 (2 1/2"), 19-3, 27-3 (8 3/8"), 27-2, 28-2, 29-2 (8 3/8"), 25-2, 48-3, 586-1 (Silhouette) and I am always looking for more... Hoping prices will become a bit more realistic in...

    Help Dating Remington 513-T

Thank you very much 2152hq. I kept questioning myself about the two "A" marks being so sloppy, but I couldn't make them into any other valid Remington stamp, especially for the month. Thanks again.

    Help Dating Remington 513-T

I recently picked up a Remington 513-T Matchmaster. It has the (what appears to be) original Redfield 68 globe sight in front and the Redfield 75 peep sight rear. I found a Remington date code pdf but I cannot decipher the date code on the left side of the barrel. Attached are the date code...

    Let's see those Highway Patrolmen

Yours is in beautiful, maybe better called pristine, condition. I found my 6" Model 28-2 about 10 years ago and it is a terrific shooter. The stocks are a bit rough. I still haven't made up my mind about refinishing them.

    It followed me home today

Nice 27-3. Mine followed me home 3 years ago. Great shooter! It was in a pawn shop and when I saw the (obviously mismarked) price, I knew it needed to be adopted immediately. Enjoy!

Getting a Model 17. New or old?

I think you will love it. I bought my 8 3/8" 17-4 unfired in box 2 years ago for $727 private party. One of my best buys ever.

    New to me

Picked up this 27-2, five inch, serial N3495xx from 1975. Only my second S&W with the wooden box. Feeling good!

    29-2,,, Every young man's dream

I was born in 1945, but did not get a 29-2 until last year. Very little wear, but box liner is rough.

    686-4 Silhouette - Polished

Yes. I recently got one from my brother. It is a 586-1 with the 6" barrel. It had Pachmyers, but I found a set of J/K Target Stocks that I like much better. Big hands I guess.

    Underlug weight on 586-1

My brother gave me this 586-1. It appears to be well used but well cared for. It has silhouette front sight which I imagine is not too common. Since the 586 has a full underlug, why would someone add this massive underlug weight? It is extremely heavy which, to me, would be worse that the...

Model 29 44 mag 4" Classic line - is it for me?

Recommend a longer barrel if you can find one. Took me a long time to find what I wanted, but stumbled across a 1978 29-2 last year for $1,000 cash. NIB w/8.375 barrel. Really unfired! Gunsmith cleaned and did action job. Shoots amazing.

    29-2 Questions

Bought a 17-4 too I guess it is an addiction. I found this 17-4 last week too. NIB, but only a blue box with no paperwork or tools. $727. I think I had a lucky week.
