Hunters: How Much Rifle Ammo Do You Carry?

Allen makes those elastic shell holders that fit over the butt stock, it holds nine rifle cartridges. I carry one in my coat pocket it keeps the rounds from rattling. It just doesn't fit my stock well. So nine plus six in the rifle. Also I always have my 638, five plus a speed strip of six.

    Anyone like derringers?

I have one an Excam, imported in the 80's? It's a 38 spl., it shoots close to point of aim and I do carry it sometimes off side as a back up to my 638. I do have lighter loads for it.

    1917 Enfield-PICS ADDED!

A10, there are two stocks on ebay buy there going to be expensive. Boyds looks like a short wait, and says semi inlet, meaning some fitting required. US ENFIELD P17 STOCK WALNUT (SEMI INLET) I would prefer an original but it should be a good project for you both. Best of luck.

Anyone borrow or loan handguns to people

I bought a marlin 30-30 for $125 and put a $50 dollar scope on it. That is my loaner gun. Even then it usually only gets loaned at deer camp. Old uncle Kenny said he was done hunting so gave all his guns away, usually shows up and hunts one morning. Also good for helping someone with a bad scope...

A ''Day of Infamy'', 70 years.

My grandparents Dick and Geniveve Meech were married Dec.8 1941. My grandfather had been to the draft board and was told he would not be drafted because he had flat feet, as such had planed the wedding. Coincidence had it that Pearl harbor happened the day before. I think it was about three...

The first pistol I fired was one of these. It was my grandfathers. It is gone now, ended up in a lake due to and uncle and his drug problem (deal gone bad). Any way I found one to replace it a few years back. Fun little gun.
