SPF, one set of really nice 1997 dated N frame target stocks.

For sale, one really nice pair of what I believe are Goncalo Alves (please correct me if I'm wrong) square butt, N frame target stocks with the speed loader cut. Stocks are ink stamped June 2, 1997 on the inside of one grip panel. I'm asking SPF plus shipping and insurance (if requested)...

    File re-sharpening

Give them a call, they answered right away when I called and had answers to all the questions I asked.

    File re-sharpening

Files arrived today. The total including shipping both ways was less than $85 all in. I have not unwrapped them all yet but the files that I looked at that passed look nearly new and the files that had the handles dipped red while not perfect look much improved over what was sent. Thanks to...

    File re-sharpening

I'm hoping it is a little of both. Some of the files had slight physical damage or had been shortened or narrowed so the news was not really surprising. Much of what I sent had duplicates within the batch as well.

    File re-sharpening

I received a call from Boggs last night. Only 32 of the 62 files I sent were able to be sharpened to their standards. They are all on the way back so I'll see what they look like when they get here.

    .50 Cal Ammo Can...Full of S&W !

The side opening .50 caliber ammo can was very common during WWII but was superseded post war.

    That's a pretty slick idea.

    File re-sharpening

That is my current plan as I'm out of wall space to hang the majority of them up. The LGS has/had a ratty Kennedy 520 machinist chest for sale for not that much money. It's make good file storage, if I had the bench space to put it on. I shipped 62 files off to Boggs earlier today. They were...

    File re-sharpening

I have 50-60 dull files sitting on my workbench right now of both American and Swiss patterns. All quality tools and 90% made by Nicholson that I've found, bought or inherited over the years. They'll be on their way to Boggs in the next couple of days so I can put them back into service. Of...

    Disregard, bought the wrong stocks.

I was afraid of that. I asked the seller but he/she wasn't going to be home to double check before the auction ended. Ah well, I guess my search will continue!

    Disregard, bought the wrong stocks.

Disregard, I just bought a set of stocks with the wrong diameter medallions in error. D'oh!

    LGS/303SMLE

IMO, more details are needed. That could be a bad deal, a fair price or a great deal depending on what is actually for sale.

    Great guy to deal with.

Are these stocks too nice to take the medallions from?

Thanks for all the opinions, I think I'll go with my gut (and the majority) and put them in the parts box and keep looking for a badly damaged set to take the medallions from.

Tight cylinder charge holes on .357 Magnum

Any idea how they justify that and/or compensate the owner? I'd imagine in some jurisdictions, firearms are registered and at minimum some explaining may need to be done as to where your firearm went. That doesn't count the potentially unhappy (former) owner either.

Are these stocks too nice to take the medallions from?

I need a pair of 1/2" diameter medallions to replace the Colt medallions someone put in a set of Eagle N Frame round to square stocks. To that end, I came up with this pair of stocks. That said, now that I have them in hand, I think they are too nice to break up for the medallions. There are...

If memory serves, that was how it was being sold.

Firing a full load behind a squib, questions.

Thanks for all the opinions. This was striclty a curiosity question relating to a M547 I saw for sale clear across the country.
