Major Dilemma. How many 66's are allowed??

Local dealer has an absolutely gorgeous 4" Model 66-1 with perhaps the prettiest original grips I have ever seen. No box, papers or anything but this gun is near perfect. If it's been shot my eyes can't tell it. He wants $550 but maybe I could get it for $500 or at least close. The problem...

    3-gun christmas shopping trip

Glad to hear that I'm not the only one who, when shopping for Christmas presents for family members, comes away from the store with a present for me too! As witnessed by a recent trip to Cabelas!

    I Miss Shooting!!!

Shame on me. I've been so busy with other stuff I have not shot anything pretty much all summer. Bummer. But yesterday I put a few rounds downrange with the pre-28 and today with the 29-3. They both still work :-) I'll try to do better.

Source for .32 S&W Long and .32 H&R Mag Ammo?

I got some .32 S&W Long 85 grain JHP from Georgia Arms and have been quite happy with it. They say it is 850 fps. Steve

Ammo Through The Washing Machine Again!

Well, for the second time I have left a speed loader full of .38 +P's in my shorts pocket and sent them through the washing machine! The last time I just pitched the ammo because I was afraid that even if I relegated it to practice purposes, I might end up with a squib half way down the barrel...

Better Info on "Neat Old Model 10 - no dash" (From Yesterday)

B.T.T. Help please :-) Is this just a well worn model 10 or is there anything special about it? Dealer wants $320. Maybe he'd take less but I'd like to know more about what it's really worth. Thanks Steve

Better Info on "Neat Old Model 10 - no dash" (From Yesterday)

OK - I looked at the gun again today and it is a Mod 10 no dash, SN C5292XX. The number I posted yesterday was an assembly number. Blue finish in not so good shape, 4" tapered barrel, 4 screws. The barrel is marked .38 S&W Special Ctg. Rubber Hogue grips. There are a couple of other...

Found a Neat Old Mod 10 no dash. Some Questions

More Thanks Today I was in a hurry and did not have good light. (And I still have a lot to learn.) I will try to visit the gun again tomorrow, pull the grips, measure the barrel, count the screws (there is no trigger guard screw so I'm thinking that rules out 5 screws and there is no screw...

Found a Neat Old Mod 10 no dash. Some Questions

Thanks for the info so far! No, Saxon_pig I am not the least bit insulted. Maybe the number I saw on the yoke was an assembly number. I'll look at the gun again. BUT IT IS DEFINITELY A MODEL 10 NO DASH. Clearly marked so on the yoke. Still don't understand the finish. If you look in your...

Found a Neat Old Mod 10 no dash. Some Questions

Hi This gun in a local dealer's. Model 10 no dash SN460xx with a 4 or 5 inch barrel and rubber Hogue Grips and further marked "CAI St Albans Vt." I did not see a SN prefix on the yoke and we did not pull the grips to look on the butt. Can anyone pin down the shipment date? The finish is hard...

    Should I Concealed Carry a J Frame .357?

Thanks Thanks to all for all the good advice. I have much to consider. Yesterday after reading your comments I fired about 15 .38 + P's through my 638-3. That was actually the first time I'd shot any +P's at all. Recoil was powerful but not unmanageable from this alloy revolver. So now I'm...

    Should I Concealed Carry a J Frame .357?

Most of the time I carry a Glock 30 SF (.45 ACP). But in the summer I live in shorts and a T Shirt. So I carry a J Frame .38 Special and sometimes even J frame .32 S&W Long. I like both these guns and they conceal easily in a pocket holster. But I feel pretty underpowered compared to the...

    BBQ Guns

Sunday "go to meetin gun" a Kimber Ultra CDP with 3" barrel. .45 ACP of course. Other days a mod 66 snubbie or a Glock 30 SF, .45 ACP. Now that I've fessed up, that 2 of my 3 carry guns are not S&W I hope I am not banned from the forum!! I have lots of other Smiths, some safe queens, and...

Value of K22's on Gun Broker??

Since I started this thread, I've picked up to "pre" K-22's both for $400. A 4 incher from a pawn shop and a 6 incher at a gun show. Both great condition - I'm a happy camper.
