    My replacement 642 has arrived!

I've sent back a couple of handguns in for warranty work. Fed Ex picked it up at my door. When the repairs were completed, they were returned to me at my door. No 10 day wait. The 10 day wait and new DROS are only required if the serial number changes.

    the Sport caught my attention

Congrats! I have one on the 10 day wait. Can't wait to pick it up. I also stayed away from AR's after having cleaned so many of them in the Army. I guess I finally got over that! LOL!!

Wow! Price of prelock 686 has really gotten out of control!

Wow! I paid $300 for a no dash in mint condition. No box or papers though, about a year and a half or so ago.

    19-4!

Nice! I've owned a few over the years. Sadly they've all gotten away. Hopefully I'll run into one as nice as yours one day. Also would like to find another 681. That went for a good cause.

Great story! I was with C Co. 1-508 from 1978 -1981. Good to hear Airborne history.

Whats up with pachmayr grips QC?

I've noticed the same thing. The new ones just don't fit like the older ones I have. Bummer, I really like the Presentation Grips.

A CS-1 may be what your looking for. Might be costly if you can find one.

The only one I've seen and owned was Springfield Armory commemorative that I foolishly traded away.

Has the world really changed all that much?

Model 10's are awesome! All of the ones I've used are extremely accurate. My Dept. still uses them. All though we are very slowly transitioning to the Glock 22. I'm very comfortable with a 38 and don't feel under gunned with one.

    The last great hump!

Excellent choice. After shooting lots of Airweights, I'm also going back to all steel!
