IDPA or USPSA for my first venture into competitive shooting?

I have to agree with several of the previous posters who state that good company and having fun should be your priorities. My local club runs IDPA shoots monthly and non-affiliated IDPA type shoots weekly. Although I enjoy them both I prefer the company of the weekly shooters over the IDPA...

    Warning-- Dillon Precision!!!!!!

I purchased a used 650 last spring. When I got it home and set it up a few minor parts were missing. I called Dillon and they took care of me. Wouldn't it be nice if more manufacturers stood behind their products and treated their customers as well as Dillon.

    Bought Me a "New" 3913

It has been said before, but I'll say it again; you can't beat a 3913 for concealment, accuracy and reliability. I love mine and would never part with it.

    Tear Down of 3913

I have a 5926 that is hard to push the pin through and all of the above suggestions work well. Oddly enough it is not a problem with my 3913, so there is no consistency as to which S&W models might have pins that are a little tight.

    3913 vs M&P and 9mm vs 40 cal

There is nothing wrong with the M&P 40 but, there are many members on this forum who have regretted selling their 3913. It is one fine handgun, a classic that has no equal for it's size, reliability and accuracy.

    Dillon XL 650 Dimensions

Thanks Jim, sounds like I will have enough room to make it work.

    Dillon XL 650 Dimensions

Hello Everyone, I am thinking of purchasing a used Dillon XL 650 with a case feeder minus the strong mounts. Can anyone help me with the dimensions of the unit? Specifically, how high is it with the case feeder and without the strong mounts? I have ample space in my basement with several...

    S&W 5926 info?

I bought one from Gander Mt. a couple of years ago for $375. It's a nice shooting gun for the money.

    CCW Poll

Hard to top the compactness and reliability of the 3913.

    COLLECTING PD GUNS

You are correct about police agencies in the Northeast tend to destroy their old pistols rather than release them to the public. I had a Forest Ranger I met while camping in the Adirondacks last year tell me that. New York State is one of those states. He was carrying a Sig 226 in .40 caliber...

    Gander Mountain 3913 score!

That was a great price for a fine gun, I love my 3913. I too have had good luck with Gander Mt. used guns. You can't beat the warranty and the free detailed stripped gun cleaning that comes with the purchase. I bought a used 5926 there last winter and a used Sig P220 9mm this past summer for...

    5926 Question

Wow, this is getting interesting. I never thought about zip codes, thanks for the insight. Sounds like a case for the "History Detectives" on PBS. Maybe I should follow up and contact someone in D.C. about that. I always assumed PD guns had their initials in acronym form stamped on them, no...

    5926 Question

In response to SN19 357's question, the only place the number 20006 is stamped is on the top of the slide. The slide has the usual warning printed on the side about only using 5926 slide, I assume because of the decocker mechanism associated with that style. I also figured that number would...

    5926 Question

Last winter I purchased a 5926 that came with night sights. All in all I am pleased with the handgun, it is mainly a range gun and it shoots great. I noticed that the rear sight is mounted about a half an inch forward from the back of the slide and stamped in that space is the number 20006...

No offense taken, you are probably right. Thanks for the feedback.

Unfavorable opinion of Smith and Wessons

When I posted this, I knew there would be many responses in favor of Smith and Wesson Semi's. I have learned that many of us are loyal to our handguns whatever they are. As with all manufactured products there are bound to be some that leave the factory and don't operate properly. Being new...

Unfavorable opinion of Smith and Wessons

I am somewhat new to handguns and over the past year I purchased a 3913 and 5926 and have enjoyed shooting them regularly. I completed a Defensive Pistol Seminar today at my local gun club and at the end of class the instructor was commenting on the quality of handguns many of the students had...

    Information about a 5926

I have been looking locally for a 5906, when a 5926 in a case at Gander Mt. caught my eye. I couldn't pass it up,it was priced fairly, so I bought it. The only real difference I see is the hammer is bobbed, the decocker is in a different place and the sights don't look like the Novaks. I...
