    Anyone carry left handed

I make Kydex holsters and it does tend to happen to lefties more than right handers, so I tend to partially cover the release. I also use 0.080 Kydex which is thicker than the thinnest and enough that you cant press the mag release through it. Thing to remember is everyone is built...

    HOLSTER Needed: M&P CORE 9mm 4.5

OWB? IWB? If IWB, Concealed carry, range or competition? Why not Kydex?

    Open Top or Retained Carry?

But if someone was to make a grab for the gun it would come straight out right? The retention in an open top Kydex holster is purely it clipped in around the trigger guard.

    Open Top or Retained Carry?

Pretty much. If it's being carried open wether for duty or not, without added retention it's pretty easy for someone to take off of you. If it's concealed, no one should know it's there. IMO a thumb break is too obvious when open carrying, but that really is just an opinion.

    Open Top or Retained Carry?

Closed top is for open carry... unless you're particularly energetic in your lifestyle.

    Shield Mag problems

No it won't. Well, maybe, just maybe a few years. Science... Google it. Many discussions and a better explanation than I can give. But you know, there's a reason the springs on you car don't lower when you leave it on the driveway. It's not being left in a single state that really does anything.

    Shield Mag problems

It seems pretty much normal through the M&P range. It will loosen up. Mine took around 1500 rounds going through it. Best $30 you will ever spend, and I know others will agree, is this: maglula | Tools for loading and unloading magazines

Holster Review: The Treadstone from Overwatch Holsters

I was going to reply to that, but it's obvious enough that there is demand that's being met, and if you only ever go with tried and trusted... nothing is ever going to develop. There's a bunch of great holster makers out there meeting the demand, I fail to see how a healthy satellite industry...

Good cheap M&P9 belt clip pistol holder? For home and range use ... Suggestions?

Cheap holsters... not a good idea. Your safety is important wether you hardly use the holster or not. With an optic mounted... you're probably going to have to have one custom cut.

    Question/Opinion

In order of importance: 1. The one you can afford to train with regularly. 2. The one you shoot best with already. Recoil on .40 is not snappy. It's completely down to the gun and owners perception. I personally would describe .40 as having a push... of course in a derringer I would describe...

Holster Review: The Treadstone from Overwatch Holsters

Thanks for noticing the way I do the shape, I don't actually cut the final shape... I have a more fluid approach. It means each holster comes out a little different but no corners anywhere near where skin may be. Anyway, tuckable is something I am trying to find a strong and convenient solution...

To Stipple or Not to Stipple...

I find it's all to easy to to be overdone and become unpleasant to shoot after a couple of magazines. It's all preference though... and how soft the skin on your hands is.

Holster Review: The Treadstone from Overwatch Holsters

I just did a little research ending with this thread here: http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-wesson-sd-sigma-pistols/184268-m-p-sd-sigma-all-3-fit-same-holster.html It appears part of the pistol has the same dimensions, but I very much doubt it will fit in a Kydex holster molded directly from...

Question on thumb and other safeties

To claim negligent discharges are more likely when carrying AIWB is a little disingenuous. To claim that an negligent discharge while reholstering is more likely life threatening is accurate. I like to refer to the mechanical safety on a Shield as "Schrödinger's Safety".

Question on thumb and other safeties

Personal preference. Most people that want a safety tend have learned with them before the full on proliferation of striker fire or from someone who carried before that... and/or served in a capacity where a firearm was carried for duty. Realistically, we know now for civilian carrying it's...

Holster Review: The Treadstone from Overwatch Holsters

It does, and it's full bodyguard. It really is a personal thing, but I would recommend trying the full first if you don't have a T-Shirt between your skin and the gun. If you don't get on with full, you can always mail it back and have it shortened at no cost. The sweatguard can always be...
