    S&W Silhouette Collection

silhouettes Thanks for the responses guys. The cases are a real eye opener. Never knew they existed. The frosted nickel has not been lettered but I know it came from a Hollywood armory for what thats worth. It does not have the N stamped on the frame or barrel or cylinder. My 29-3 6" appears to...

    S&W model 19-1...UPDATE IT SHOWED..

Been collecting K frame -1's for a while and finally have secured at least 1 of each model number. The nickel -1's are really hard to find and quite expensive compared to the -2's (+3K for a lettered 18-1). Collecting -1's is a real challenge but worth the time IMHO.

    Model 68 Commemoratives

Acquired a consecutive pair of 68-2 "Los Angeles Police Department" stainless revolvers this week end (SN AEU50xx). One is in the original blue S&W box. The other is in a wood display box with the LAPD logo in the upper left corner and a brass plate in the lower right corner "City of Los Angeles...

    66-1 6.125-in barrel

Perhaps someone could investigate the possibility of a lawsuit regarding advertized 6" guns having 5 7/8" barrels and using the Model 66 as an example. S&W produced M66-1's for about 6 months with 6 1/8" barrels. Well outside any "tolerance" factors. And you won't find any other model with...

    S&W Model 57 & 29

Looks to have a few light scratches. Would this be a good candidate for an N Frame display?

    mod 53

M53 price I would have walked away. I had the same gun package offered to me for $1000 about 6 years ago and had to fight with myself but eventually bought it. If I sold it today, I might make $200. I'm sure its a nice gun but you can get that package for a lot less,

    My new Model Marked 22

Another Model Marked 22 I have Model 22 serial number S192594, kissing cousin to yours, but look at the difference in ship dates. Mine hasn't been shot much either and is in really nice condition. It was displayed at the Tucson SWCA show 3 years ago along with companion Model Marked 20 and...

    Model 53 .22 Jet, 1st Year Production

Tough in Calif Great find for a Calif guy. I remember how hard it was to find good guns there. Much easier in AZ! I Have a few extra inserts if you want to fill out your cylinder. The other posts are correct about LOUD. However it is accurate and good on most varmints out to 100 yards. Enjoy it.

    M58 Letter

Just got letter for my M58, SN S313458, (shipped Sept '68) stamped SFPD on the frame. It shipped to the George Cake Co. Berkeley, CA. It was part of a 10 gun shipment. Anybody know anything about this company? Gun has adjustable sights added after shipment, very professionally done, but Roy...

    Model 16-3 K-32

M16-3 SN 3K3261x has a 14-3 frame, overstamped with a 6. Came without box so can't help on the box configuration. BTW. Prices seem to be going up on the K32's, almost $3000 for a pre model!

    M-57 Nickle vs Blue

Need advice and help - Centennial Airweight cylinder gap problem

Any chance the frame is cracked at the bottom of the barrel? A common problem for these early Centennials. I have a real beautiful example, 99%, with a crack clear across the width of the frame. If your gun has a cracked frame, the barrel may have moved around enough to upset the cylinder face/...

K32 Masterpiece Is it worth it?

    Help with Mfg. Date

Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson shows Chief's produced in 1955 have serial numbers of 55050 to 75000 so yours is probably in there someplace. Great backup piece, by the way. Enjoy!

Pre War Large Medallion K Frame Grips

Pre War Large Medallions I have a beautiful set that came from S N 61073X. Just have the grips and no idea of what they were shipped on, but they are really nice. Maybe some day I'll find the gun!

    S&W Model 40 Centennial

I Think my Pre 40 shipped in late 53-early 54, so yours should be about the same time. Nice guns! Real cool if it has the original red box.

Found a nice pre model 40 Centennial

Great find. I have the same model, serial # 8357 which I believe shipped in 1956. An earlier model, serial #2638 came in the original red box with the papers and I believe shipped in 1953. I love these guns.
