    Dry firing--- why so bad?

I can only say this. I will not purchase a used revolver without first checking the timing and dry firing the gun. When I sell a revolver, I encourage the serious buyer to do the same. For safety reasons, I insist on proper inspection by myself and the buyer to make sure the weapon is not loaded...

Which S&W does the Ruger SP101 compete with?

Mod 65 with a 3" barrel.--Tom P.S. No J frame is a pleasure to shoot with .357 unless you are an NFL lineman. Weak, sickly little me is very fond of my 6" Mod 66 for the full power .357 load. Not exactly a SP101 clone.

    Gun Show Find M60-4 3"

I take issue with only the "one of". Im MHO this is the very best J ever built. And I own two 2" Mod 60s plus my beloved Mod 317 and half a dozen other J models. The Pac Compac is a good choice. They looks a lot better than the factory rubber and feels fine. My 60-4, while in the safe wares the...

    Model 37 opinions?

Mod 37 with a Tyler T or a boot grip is a great combination, man or woman. I have a Mod. 38, 649, Mod 60, 60-4 and half doz other J frames. Even two nice Cobras. I prefer the Round Butt 37, Tyler T and load "often" with 148 gr. full wadcutters. Soft shooting, but potent in that "8 feet or even...

Question about a Mod 10-8 Round Butt 4", HB.

Thanks, Mike and scha. As far as a "shooter supreme", I think I let one go. It was that good.--Tom

Question about a Mod 10-8 Round Butt 4", HB.

Thank you, scha. Quick question (or two) Super smooth action and of any extra value over a 4" SB ? Thank you.--Tom

    +p+ safe in Model 60

You COULD shoot your +P+ out of any heavy barrel .38 K frame like the Mod 10s and the Mod 67s, etc. Do not even think about shooting that load out of any .38 Special J frame for the above mentioned pain and shortend service life. Probably any K will hold up to a box or two. --Tom

    Gun control logic.

Hey, I like your sig line. That does make sense.

    Gun control logic.

Ripped off a T shirt : Gun Control: The theory that a woman found dead in an ally, raped and strangled with her own pantyhose is somehow morally superior to a woman expaining to the police how her attacker got that fatal bullet wound. Luckydog.

Question about a Mod 10-8 Round Butt 4", HB.

10-8 4" Heavy Barrel with a Round Butt. Common as fleas on a dog or "different" at least. I have several Mod 10-8s all have SQ butts. This Smith also is parkerized, has a smooth trigger face and a target hammer ??? The action is custom shop + smooth. Are the RBs common on the 4" Heavy barrel ...

    Ultimate trail revolvers?

Gosh,(how old does that make me) it is nice to see another .22LR brother. I carry a firebreathing Mod 317. Often forget it is there. Stingers feed it.(Her, she has the beautiful Dymondwood grips)I am also partial to my Mod 60-4, 38 Special with Speer 135+P but seldom need more than the .22...

    Nickel, Model 10 .38 special

I do not beleive that your Smith or TAC803s are "pre 10s". I "think" they are both Mod of 1905s. The no letter prefix on the serial number makes me pretty sure. If you check the new, overpriced Blue Book(aka- Fjestad) you would think a 1905 is worth it's weight in gold. Not around here...
