I assume you mean 4 screw -1 29. Other -1's, while scarce compared to -2 etc guns, are more common.

Both my Nickel 44 Magnum and my K-32 shipped in '58 and they both have the flat faced screws in the sights. Everything else is from '60 on and have the rounded screws, in case that helps anyone.

I've seen quite a few of them for sale right on this forum over the time I've been here, and back in '08/'09 they were selling for $7-$800 on here. I paid $700 for mine, but it is an older S prefix model in great shape.

I am really surprised that others haven't jumped in on this thread. The wrong grips are a big bargaining factor in your favor, as is the lack of box, docs., and tools. Check to see if the serial numbers all match- bottom of grip, cylinder, barrel etc.

Does the 152 actually look like this- 1.52? (Jan '52) If so, that is a date from a trip back to the factory, and probably when the star stamp was placed on the gun.

I have a 29-2 that is poorly stamped like that. It clearly says lCD instead of MOD. Obviously part of the M and O are missing. I also have a 15-3 that should have the serial number stamped in the yoke recess but doesn't. Just MOD 15-3.

When I bought mine, it had push off and the shop that sold it to me tried to fix it, but it didn't last, and quickly became rough/gritty feeling. I bough a NOS hammer and fitted it. Now it's like new again. Mine came with the case and tools all in great condition too. Hopefully yours just needs...

If the trigger is like that, check for push off by cocking the gun, then pushing on the back of the hammer spur with your thumb. If it falls, you need to leave the gun be until someone can fix it. That is a highly unsafe condition. Usually the sear notch can be re-cut to correct it, but not...
