More News from a disarmed country

In the name of "political correctness" some "leaders" would stand by and let the country be overrun. After all, we don't want to offend anyone, now do we? Actually, the threat of being shot, kidnapped, killed, or robbed by someone here illegally as a member of an ongoing criminal enterprise...

Buffalo Bore failure? Five shots = seven holes!!??

I've never seen primers like that on a pistol cartridge. They look almost like shotgun primers, but my eyes aren't what they used to be.

Krebs Custom .45acp 28-2 "CROWBAR" - This is a pretty cool piece

Nice piece! I think I would have it cut it where the port begins, so's it would fit in my pocket better. I like the finish and hammer.

    Remington UMC is "Metal" Case?

I just put 150 rounds of umc through the Gk at the range today. Works fine.

Buffalo Bore failure? Five shots = seven holes!!??

Anybody else there might have put a couple holes in your target instead of theirs?

    25 acp

There may be circumstances that require carrying a small gun that can disappear into small spaces or pockets. My advice, carry the largest gun in the largest caliber that circumstances allow.

    S&W 10-7 2" barrel

Good catch on the model 10. I have a 2" that used to belong to a USAF General officer and believe it or not, I have been able to hit a silouhette at 100 yards. Never more than 2 or 3 times out of a cylinder, but that gun is scary accurate. Some of the guys coming up now have never held a...

    Gunshop trip

I, too appreciate the difference between day to day necessities and ammo. Ammo is only in that catagory if somebody feels they are in need of it to protect their life or the life of an innocent person.

    Gunshop trip

I understand where you are coming from. I'm just living in the past, I guess. Value of an item is based on what someone is willing to pay. During times of "crisis", people who jack up prices on necessities such as food, water, and gasoline to take advantage of a short supply are looked upon...

    Gunshop trip

I understand that times are tough, and supply is short. The only thing I have an issue with is the folks who had 6 million rounds in stock that they bought for 10 dollars a box that are now selling it for 90.00. Arguably that's how the free enterprise / capitalist system works, but it still...

    Ammo nightmares

I can vouch for the above comment. I was a medic in the inner city for a few years in my former life, and most of the folks who had Christmas cancelled were shot with whatever happened to be in the gun when it was stolen. I think the biggest concern with fmj for defensive purposes is as one of...

    Gunshop trip

Yeah, I understand that things started to get crazy then, but I haven't needed to pick up anything since this "insanity" started. I guess that his suggestion that my stainless 3" 65-3 with factory DAO and bobbed hammer would retail for around 450.00 might have been a tad low as well?

    Gunshop trip

I was out for a ride and decided to stop by the gunshop where I have been doing business for over 25 years. The owner is a friend, and we have done many deals over the years. I literally stopped in my tracks when I saw the prices on ammo. 70.00 for a brick of imported .22 LR, 295.00 for a 300...

    Cross-body carrying:Pro's & Con's

No, appendix carry is on the the strong side if you are right handed. If there were one perfect way to carry a gun, somebody would be rich holding the patent on the perfect holster. Every individual, every gun, and every situation is different. What works for me may not work for someone...

Vietnam Pistol -- what is 'story of my 38 Special?

Page 397 of the Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson lists the ".38 Special M&P Postwar and Models 10, 11, 12, 45, and Aircrewman" with a serial number range that yours falls into. The C prefix serial number is listed as "1948-1967 C1 - C999999". Doesn't narrow it down much, since they...

    4" revolver for Concealed Carry

If you can shoot it effectively, there is nothing wrong with carrying a 4" as your primary self defense weapon. I prefer the 4" in the 5 O'clock position IWB. Less pokage up front than trying to carry appendix.

    My first Model 10

You need to turn yourself in....you stole that gun for 200.00! In my opinion, the model 10 in general is about the best platform out there. Nice find!!! Enjoy. Is it marked with an "N" under the grips? It looks to be a factory finish to my untrained eyes.

    Questions for the ladies.

Just a thought, and something that we cover in classes. Women who carry guns in a purse are sometimes at a disadvantage, especially if they are the victim of a purse snatching. Also, women tend to put purses down in restaurants and other social venues, and many times leave them in a group at...
