I just received today a Model 10-5 I bought on an on-line auction last week. This is my first model 10. It is nickel plated and the serial number (C9289XX) I believe dates it to 1966-67. It turns out to be absolutely tight. If 50 rounds have gone through it, I'd be surprised. More wear on the grips than on the gun, but they are matching. I'm very happy with it for the $200 I spent.

You need to turn yourself in....you stole that gun for 200.00! In my opinion, the model 10 in general is about the best platform out there. Nice find!!! Enjoy. Is it marked with an "N" under the grips? It looks to be a factory finish to my untrained eyes.

Yes - there is an N under the grips. Thanks all! I can't wait to go shoot it.

Very nice and a great buy too. You don't see as many of the 5" bbl.

Congratulations, a great first purchase! To me, the 5 inch barrel is the most desirable. Mine wears a T-grip.

My 1966 10-5 is a four-inch with the standard barrel. I love it, but I'd really like to have a five-inch. I think the Model 10 is as near a perfect revolver design as anything ever made.

So tell us, what type of submachine gun were you holding on the seller when you got that beauty for $200.00?

Last weekend was a strange (but really good) one for me. I got this gun for $200 in one auction, a 1903 Colt for $175 in another and a Femaru Model 37 for $75 in another. The auctioneer for the Colt keeps saying "going...going....going...this thing CAN'T sell for this price...going...going...I have never sold one of these this cheap..." and on and on. I was shocked at all three "wins".

Yes, there is something just proportionally "right" about the 5 inch barrel IMHO.

WELL, congratulations on some great deals!!!

Now, can we see pictures?????????

A nice model 10 for $200...............great going

Very nice. My model 10-5 used police gun from down under is my favorite revolver of all the smith and seasons that I own.
