    Colt DS timing question

D is totaly on the money with his Colt smarts. I have passed on beautiful Pythons, Cobras ect. I very much like the Colt revolvers, but if they go out of whack, I can't fix em, and parts are hard to comeby. I can perform basic repairs on a Smith, but I would not even venture to open up a Colt.

New 329 Nightguard - NEW RANGE REPORT ADDED -- GO TO 01/11/09 POST

I like the looks of the night guard, I think it would make a great camping gun. I don't know wether to get the .45 acp/auto rim or the .44 mag and shoot specials out of it. I would like to have the hammer bobbed so that I could draw it fast from a heavy coat. Hmmmm shades of Mr. Holmes...

Model 29s coming out of the woodwork, what's up?

Yup, a lot of people got caught short in this market, and have to sell some stuff. I got busted up good, but I'm keeping my 29-no dash. Ill stock tomato soup cans on shelves before I sell that one

I guess I need to retire my model 19

I'm sorry to hear that about your model 19. Its clear that your cared for you weapon in the proper fashion. You avoided the 125 grain stuff. You did not fire an inordinate amount of the 158 grain factory load, and you still got a cracked forcing cone. You did mention that you fired .38s in...

    Interesting M29-10 barrel problem.

Just checked my 629-6CHV98xx, lands smooth as glass after my last cleaning, I shoot the 240 Hornady swagged in front of 7.5 Unique in special brass. Very accurate load at 25, going 2 inches and under. I am lucky I suppose. I do notice that the forcing cone is rough though, and I too had that...

Crappy economy - will guns get cheaper ??

Yes you will see a lot more used guns on the market now. The top tier Smiths,Colts,Winchesters will always hold their value, cause no matter what shape the overall economy is in, there are always people with money. In my area now, you can't give away a pump shotgun. The price will drop on...

Poll - Your favorite .357 frame

for hunting, I like the 6 inch L frame, for open carry woods bumming I like 3- 4 inch K frame. I dont have to face lions, tigers, hippos,or grizzly bears, so the .38spl FBI 158 grain LSWCHP load is all I want or need, and the K frame is perfect for that.

M13-3 Shooter (and a couple others)

I really like my 13-3, packs just right in a El Paso Tortilla with the 2x2x2 pouch. The 13 was the handgun of the Maryland State Police for many years. I load mine with a Speer 158 grain LSWCHP over 5.4 grains new Unique in .38 special brass(slightly over max load for .38 special) That load...

S&W CCW guns 3913, etc... vs plastic?

Well, I just picked up my 3913 here in the People's Republic of Maryland, waiting my time to get it. ANIB, great looking piece, I never had one of these before, but after listening to all these people on the forum, I decided to get one, I had the 6904,(short stainless 9mm 12 rd mag) with the...

    Maybe it's time I got back to the basics . . .

Erich, as of yet I do not own a chrony, my own personal guess would be in around 1090-1115 at sea level, and it is a load that you can control, I use Tyler T and PC stocks with this combo, the .38 special cases easily eject from the 13's cylinder. A double tap is not hard to accomplish. I like...

    Maybe it's time I got back to the basics . . .

Erich, I can't see how you could go wrong with a round butt fixed sight 3-4 in K frame shooting a 160-173 grain LSWC for ccw. That load will punch through modern car bodies like they were made of Charmin. I like the 4 inch with the round butt fixed 13, hell a 10 would work too. I load 12.7...
