taking a picture is no problem, but I have no idea how to post the pictures. There are pictures of my 41 on this sight, but I guess due to failing memory I cannot remember how to post them.

I will take pictures. As much as I have been around guns my whole life I did not recognize the term barrel extension. My father purchased new in 1958. He did not make any changes. I have his 1957 model 27 .357 magnum as well. No changes to that either.

Maybe he is talking about the muzzle break. I have lowered the rear sight as low as it goes. I am lost at this point.

If I take the barrel extension off will that show me anything. shooting it without the extension that is.

I am a little confused. If I am correct if I am shooting high then my rear sight needs to be lowered (which is as low as it goes) or my front sight needs to be higher.

I have a 1958 model S&W model 41 I received from my dad. Shooting 6" high at 25 yds. Rear sight all the way down. Any suggestions?

The two other gunsmiths said they don't work on old S&W because parts were hard to find.

Took it to the range this weekend. Shoots like a new gun. S&W were the only ones that refused to work on it. The guy who fixed it was a old S&W gunsmith. I am very happy.

I have a model s&w 1917. 100% on working and tight as a drum. Dates 1918. Only problem is bluing is worn off. Other than that shoots and feels like a new revolver. Approx. value anyone?
