    Is spring really here?

Friday it was in the 60s. Saturday, the cold wind that comes down from Kansas started. Temperature never got above the mid 40s and dropped later in the day. Sometime during the night, it snowed - a lot. There was a strong swirling wind also. My car was uniformly covered with about 4 inches...

    Stupid stickers

My first thought would be Goo Gone as it's citrus based. Try a little on the magazine or under a grip or something first in case it marrs the finish.

    A Day At The Office.

Amazing post. Terribly depressing in a way, but amazing all the same. Please keep them coming.

    Lost my father today

I'm so sorry for your loss. We buried my dad on Monday. I'm still in shock. I think about he and my mother everyday. They're not really gone as long as you remember them.

    Pacific Mini-Series

Owning both the M1903-A3 and M1 Garand, as well as an M1917, I can say the 03-A3 is the slickest bolt action I've ever had the pleasure of shooting. If, however, the proverbial excrement hit the oscillating air movement device, I'd take a Garand in a heart beat. There is a story in Hatcher's...

    Specialize in collecting S&W 22's ?

You are missing the model 317 from your list. It's a light alloy frame 8 shot revolver. They are available in "pre-lock" versions also. Good luck with your collecting. Charlie

N.Y. To Ban Salt In Restaurants

I'm sorry, but who the heck are you to dictate how someone else lives? Salt in moderation is not a health issue. I bought some low sodium foods, and guess what there was in a large proportion - potassium. When are "they" going to figure out that's no good either. Quit trying to control my...

    Who Is Really Your Friend?

The trouble is the new cars have a lever inside the trunk to open it from the inside. Now you have to tie them up too...

    What is your Phobia ??

Zombies. Every once in a while at about 2 in the morning, I'll look out the window and across the golf course expecting to see some shambling hulks of former humanity coming to eat my brains. Yes, I have a pathological fear of something that doesn't exist. I plan on being cremated just so no...

    Model 60 vs. 65 - differences?

Pre lock model 60s in 357 are few and far between in my experience. There are absoutely zero on Gunbroker as of this writing.

    Say Cheese, Chuckie!

As soon as I saw that picture, I flashed on a Steven King novel - Needful Things, I think it was.... The Devil takes many forms. Sometimes he wears an orange tie.

    Model 60 vs. 65 - differences?

I think you would be well served with either. The only advantage I would suggest with the Ruger is that you could easily get it in 357 Magnum, not that you'd want to shoot a lot through it though....

    Newbie With Mod. 60

The hammer and trigger on your pistol are chromed. My thoughts are they did it to reduce the possibility of galling, although aesthetics would be a good reason too. By the 1980s, metalurgy had improved to the point galling wasn't an issue at all. I carry Hornady 125 grain XTP standard...

    What is it?

It sounds like some sort of vibration damper. Otherwise, it's a large rubber cylinder.

    S&W 45 acp Model 4526

You might want to call S&W customer service (I'm sure the number will be on their website). Have your model serial number ready. They have been most helpful on the few ocassions I have called.

    S&W 45 acp Model 4526

The Standard Catalog of Smith and Wesson (SCSW) will have pretty much all the available information about your pistol that's in writing. I can tell you that your pistol was probably built circa 1993 or so (it may have been a little earlier; it WAS almost 20 years ago and I was sort of there)...

    659 Interim Model, 1 of 150

According the SCSW, the 6590 and 6591 are considered to be transitional models. They were made in 1991 and have some connection to the distributor RSR. All of these pistols will have a serial number beginning with "RSR" as the prefix with a four digit number afterward. My model 6590 is marked...

    Question for traffic LEOs.

And he would be wrong and lose big time in court. As much as I disagree with the ACLU lots of the time, they have produced a very good webpage about this subject: Know Your Rights: What to Do If You're Stopped by the Police | American Civil Liberties Union

    Question for traffic LEOs.

I dislike that phrase more than most others. Who decides the program? I have Constitutional rights. If you don't have probable cause or a warrant, I will politely decline consent to a search. Period. Civil servants work for the citizenry. Not the other way around.

    Can you name that gun?

And if the first three digits of the serial number are 364, I'd say it was made in 1920.
