    Bullet Pulling Tools

AS one who is and was interested in Bullet pulling tools in the first instance, I have read all these posts and the link to the fellow who initiated the referenced "accident". He apparently was using a shell holder. KEWPIE, a few posts back, relates his experience with a "fire", and he was...

    Fast or Slow

JB: OK and thanks for that info. I too, have their 2nd edition, and as one might expect from a LEE published book, it pushes their product. While I check the data in all books I have, my last check before re-loading, is to go to the powder WEB site and plug in the details looking for their...

JellyBean: I note once again that you mention "LEE Manual". What is it about the Lee loading Book? Thanks R

    Puzzling chrono results

EPJ: Thanks for the target show....I agree that target ain't too bad considering rapid fire at 20yds. I certainly would like to see that , and then try to get a closer group for sure. I'm into Bullseye and it is not easy. Now if I can get my 9MM "on target"......... regards, R

    Puzzling chrono results

EPJ: Sorry I have no answers on your velocity questions. But I am very interested in your 9MM results. I also use Clays in my 9MM, but the accuracy on paper is terrible at 25 yards. Can you speak to your accuracy at 25 yards using your 9MM?? Thanks R

    OAL for .45acp in a 1911

Well, ...initially my 1911 did not like them either..would feed jacketed all day long......so, I went thru the process of finding out when the bullet would fall in the chamber and exit w/o a pull, and then measured the OAL...adjusted the load, and Bingo, no feed problems..I guess it depends on...

    .45ACP Easiest To Load?

Well, I'm new to reloading, but I do .45, 38/357, and 9MM. I'm kinda an old dude at 71, but have no problems loading any of the above. But I still do a quick check every 10th round, and being retired don't care how long it takes as long as the product is correct. As for 9MM accuracy, it's...

    Bullet Pulling Tools

Yep!..well I tested them today, and inspected cases after. Look OK, but I now feel the answer is to re-spring the 439, use the original 3.6 load, and unload the "hot" rounds. And I think you mentioned the LEE book...turns out I can't find a single listing in that book for 9MM where CLAYS is...

    Reloading S&W 439

So..back from the Range. The increased loads did not solve the problem. I removed the scope from the mount, and the 439 performed as it should with no FTE or FTL. It also continued to work using the original 3.6 load under the 115 gr. So..at this point, it appears a re-spring is in fact in...

    Reloading S&W 439

TO ALL: Thanks for the replys.........As to load accuracy on paper...the 3.6 load is not even close...like shotgun, all over the place. really strange. Now my .45 pattern is much better, so don't think is it shooter problem. I have loaded 20 rounds at >3.6, but < 3.9.. and plan to go to the...

    Bullet Pulling Tools

Actually, the load data came from the Hodgdon web site loading data. 3.7 to 3.9 is right......but my OAL is 1.12.......and these are not HP, just jacketed RN...... Thanks R

    Reloading S&W 439

Ah well, I'm new to reloading, but I scale every 10th round, so I'm fairly certain that I'm as close as equipment will allow. As for a "re=spring", I thought about that.....but a lighter spring may eliminate the FTE, but may produce FTL, which is just as bad... So...sounds like trial and...

    Bullet Pulling Tools

Thanks JB. The genesis of this thread is a 439 that worked flawlessly eating 115gr over 3.6 clays. Then I added about 4 ozs of metal in the form of mount and scope to the 439 slide. OOPS..now the 439 will not eject..period. So maybe the load is a bit light, but with 115gr, and Clays, 3.9 is...

    OAL for .45acp in a 1911

Well...you might try this, if you haven't done so. Strip the 1911......set a bullet in an empty case (no powder, no primer). Set the bullet at the longest OAL. Then place the test bullet in the chamber. The case should go "all the way in". If the case protudes, re-set the test bullet a bit...

    Reloading S&W 439

So..I'm reloading 9MM for the 439 , using CLAYS cause that's all that was available, using 3.6 gr under 115 gr jacketed RN. Works great, not a single problem. I got into Bullseye, and decided to add mount and scope on the 439 slide (about 4 additional ounces). Now the 439 will not eject...

    opinions on model 39 please

Thanks for the spring info, xcpd69. So, if one removes the rear sight, and catches the springs and plungers, what procedure is used to compress the spring(s) while sliding in the new rear sight?? Anyone? Regards. EDIT: No need to reply. Job has been completed. Nice scope mount has been...
