CCI Standard Velocity works perfectly in mine. So long as it cycles properly, I think logic suggests that it will be easier on the gun over time than high velocity rounds.

Just had a chance to try out my Dawsons. The .160 tall front sight shoots to point of aim at 15 yards and an inch or two low at 7. I am very glad I did not buy the .180 tall sight as recommended by Dawson!

I have bought two new C.O.R.E.s in the last couple of months, and I put Apex Forward Set (polymer) trigger and sear kits on both. That may be just me, I like to mod and fiddle with most if not all of my guns. The stock triggers were not bad - certainly usable as-is.

I find loading and unloading moon clips to be a pain, so I use AR when shooting targets, moon clips when needed for speed during a match. I use the same target load all the time, so "heavy" loads are not an issue.

I would put it slightly differently. If there is ANY reasonable likelihood you will ever want to put a optic on it, I would get the C.O.R.E. just to keep my options open. Like Bkruetz, I kind of like the tall sights, but I would likely replace the factory sights on either gun, so am not out...
