    Bodyguard 380...

I don't intend putting a thousand rounds through it, I have target pistols for that, but I have gone to the range a few times and put a few clips through it. Have had no issues with it and it very accurate at around 7 yards. All shots grouping in the body mass area. Have an inside waist band...

    Bodyguard 380 trigger pull

I didn't buy it for a range gun, I have others that are more fun to shoot, and I really will only put a few rounds through it occasinally to make sure it still functions properly. It's my carry gun not a target pistol.

    Bodyguard 380 trigger pull

My BG 380 has a long trigger pull too, but it is only stiff at the first of the pull. After it breaks, the trigger comes back very smoothly till it fires. I also noticed that when rapid firing the gun I do not even notice the long pull or stiffness. When trying to sight gun and holding on...

Report: Problems with new S&W Bodyguard 380

I've put a little over 50 rounds thru my BG 380 with no problems except one. I hit the mag. release while shooting and the mag slipped down around a 1/4th of an inch giving it a fail to load. I think the mag feels very loose in the grip. I'm thinking of making a thin rubber spacer for the mag...

    A couple questions

Thanks for the lesson on mountain guns. So, how about someone explaning the "lock" feature everyone has negative comments about. Beautiful mountain gun pics.

    A couple questions

Any caliber for a mountain gun or primarily magnums? I assume my 686 (no dash) would not have MIM parts?

    A couple questions

Thanks for the reply. I guess the MIM is not as strong as forged so they are not as desirable.

    A couple questions

New to the forum and I have a couple questions. What is, or maybe I should say the qualifications that make a "mountain gun"? Also the term "MIM" keeps coming up and I can't seem to find what that means. Thanks people , it's a good forum and I'm enjoying it.

    Jovino Effector questions

I'm assuming from what I've been reading is that you cannot have a Jovino effector made any more. Does any one convert the 686 to the short barreled round butt style anymore?

    686 lock, no-lock ?

Thanks for clearing that up. I was also wondering about the different grip styles also. Thanks. Beautiful gun.

    686 lock, no-lock ?

New to the forum so I've been reading a lot and my question is what is the lock, no-lock debate on the 686 all about? Is the 686 (no dash) affected?

    686 pics ??

My stainless 686 (no dash) with 6" barrel. I purchased new back in the 80's. I think they called it a Distinquished Combat Magnum. Has red ramp and white outline adjustable rear site and smooth combat trigger. Only had about 50 or so rounds through it so it's like new. It is a very accurate...

    1917 cylinder endplay

Thanks for the info. I'll do some measurements and see what I got. Barrel and cylinder alignment looks good just little rotational play. Yoke is good and tight.

    1917 cylinder endplay

New to the forum, so I will say I asked this question over in the "show your 1917" but I got no response. What is the acceptable end play and rotational play in a S&W mod. 1917 revolver? I'd like to shoot it but the cylinder seems a little loose. The gun is 93 years old so some play is to be...

Ok this wil probably be sacreligious to the purists, but how do you make a snubbie out of the 1917? Some pictures look like the barrel was just cut off and others look like a barrel replacement. What kind of approx. costs would a gunsmith charge to do the job? Any comments or help would be...

    Bodyguard .380 report

I had my first fail to load problem while firing today. Pulled the trigger and nothing. Checked and found no bullet in the chamber. The magazine was loose and had dropped down a 1/8 on an inch or so and the slide did not pick up the round. First problem with firing the gun, but second time...

I'll just leave it as is since my mother gave it to me after my dad passed away. He was an old horse trader so I imagine he traded something for it.
