My broom. Is # 382325 … made in 1916 . All numbers matching. It has a dark bore but rifling is there. On right side front - upper is a little crown like stamp . This is supposed to be for designation , affirming for military use . Never had a sight of one with a no rifling / smooth bore...

A mystery until they discover the cause. Quite a Shame. I admire a guy that got off the train when the trip was over .

Simichrome is a finer grade abrasive than Flitz. Not by much tho. If you can find WENOL, in the blue tube ( German manufacture) not the Red squeeze tube. Real good polish , maybe better than Simichrome.
