I've been looking at rrages and thought of possibly this combination. NC Star 4 Reticle Red Dot Sight with Riser Scope Mount For AR15

I've thought about a magnifier in the future, I was just unsure of roughly what kind of distances a red dot could cover, effectively, versus a magnifier.

Ok, that makes sense. Now my next question is, what kind of high mount should I look into that doesn't look so stupid? The one that is attached on the link is hideous...surely there are more aesthetic pieces.

Just wanted to say hello to everyone. I just bought my MP 15-22 a few days ago. I've never owned a long rifle, I'm pretty excited. It's a wonderful gun and I cant wait to have some more fun with it.
