Added this to my 2nd Generation Sport.

Bought this Vortex Optics Sparc II Red Dot Sight - 2 MOA for my 2nd Gen Sport about three are four years ago and it has been stellar at the range, if I remember right I paid about 160 bucks for it, money well spent!:)

Let me put it as you simply as I can, first of all I have put a lot more into my first Gen than you. Second I see no reason for me to sell it since I like what I did to it and I am satisfied with it's performance and looks. Thirdly I will never in my life time get what I put in to it, so...

I have a later M&P Sport and it was a good color match on the upper and the lower when I purchased it, to be honest I looked at it before I even bought it. In my opinion this totally unacceptable since this should of been rectified through Quality Control before the AR went in the box and out...

There is a lot of good choices out there, do your research as you are doing here on this forum and you will find the one that fits your needs. My choice was the Raptor. :)

Just another expensive toy! I will stick to the old school way. Hell these days everything is getting Hy-Tech, I guess they figure why not a AR. :)

That is exactly what helped me, looking through the peep hole on the rear sight, which cured the problem. :)

I thought the Melonite treatment was done after the rifling was cut.

I own a 1 generation Sport and there is no HPT, MP stamp any where on the bolt.

Did the same with my old generation Sport. The only thing that is still part of the Sport is the lower, barrel and buffer tube. What can I say I got bit by the AR Gods. :eek:

I put YHM flip up on my old generation Sport. Put it on for the simple reason I do not like my red dot co-witnessing with my front sight, but that is just me. Removing the A2 is cut and dry, it is no big deal to remove as some people think it is, you just jump in and take your time. Hell, even...

My Geissele SSA works for me. Would not change a thing. :)

I believe 5.56 casing are thicker which puts the powder in a tighter area bringing the pressure in the casing a lot higher than .223. :)

Did not like the AAA battery set up. I read that the disc type battery last longer than the triple A, but price wise between both batteries I am sure the triple A is cheaper. :)

Just added a Vortex SPARC II to my Sport. Did a lot of research and did not want to spend to much for a red dot, so this is the one that I went for that would not break the bank. As for now I have not hand time to sight it in. The 2 MOA red dot is very clear, love the way the controls are set...
