I still have the factory trigger in my Sport 1, which is A LOT better than the trigger in my AR-556. But, I am thinking about replacing both, depending on if I am able to sell one of my firearms that is not needed/wanted anymore.
Here are (3) triggers that CTD has on sale. The first (2) are very competitive with one another, but, the 3rd posted trigger, I have no clue about it. Opinions on which one "YOU" would install in my AR's?

ALG Defense Quality Mil-Spec Trigger AR-15/AR-10 8620 Alloy Steel 6.5LBs Small Pin Black QMS - 2-ALGQMS

Bravo Company Manufacturing BCM PNT Polished Nickel Teflon Trigger Assembly AR-15 Mil-Spec AISI8620 Alloy Steel Small Pin Nickel Teflon Plating BCM-PNT-TA1 - 812526020451

Del-Ton AR-15 2 Stage Hook Under Trigger Set 2 Stage Small Pin - LP1060 - 848456000522

It greatly depends on what the gun is being used for... target, hunting, defense, etc?

Intended use should dictate gear, accessories and upgrades!

If you are looking strictly at single stage triggers I would look at the ALG and the BCM both are high quality and should serve you well.

AIM Surplus has the ALG with free shipping @ the same price.

I would go with the ALG if I was after a single stage trigger, it is manufactured by Mr Geissele after all. I like the ACT vs the QMS I think the coating is worth the extra bucks. Use the lower power purple spring and combine it with a Joe Bob's set screw trigger adjuster grip screw to take out all the creep and it's a really fine single stage trigger.

I would go ALG as well myself. It's one of the best upgrade triggers out there for the money. It won't compare to a Geissele but for the price, it's pretty darn good.

Well.... if you're interested in punching paper while shooting from bags as you earlier posted on the Forum, you might consider a trigger with less pull weight than a slicked-up GI trigger like ALG describes-- Pull weight is generally 6.5lbs, never lower than 5.5lbs, never higher than 9.5lbs. If you're looking for a trigger to suit a duty rifle including gloved shooting in winter, the ALG description might well fit.

You have to first understand what you want and why. Once you figure that out, then look at different trigger choices in the category.

For example... Is a trigger with a pull weight advertised as somewhere between 6-9lbs what you're looking for? If so, why? If you can't answer that, you're not ready to start comparing triggers for purchase let alone digesting what others think you should do.

Wilson Combat TTU single stage 4lb best fit my criteria. But that has nothing to do with what might best fit your criteria.

Agree with ChattanoogaPhil, you need to decide what you'll use it for.

My rifles are set up to be able to use for SD, but I also use them to punch paper. I also like a 2 stage better. That being said, for the money it's really, really hard to beat the Geissele G2S. Really.

Mostly, to punch paper. My home, carry, and vehicle SD is taken care of.
BTW, I ordered a red dot sight. Oops, wrong section/thread to post. :o

What distance are you shooting? Are you looking to shoot sub MOA groups or just hitting paper and ringing steel?

I personally like 2 stage triggers because I can "prep" them which is similar to how I run pistols. YMMV.

Actually, both.
When I was in the military we had the Vietnam era M-16A1 rifles. That's what I learned to shoot with in the M-16/AR field. After I was discharged I bought a Ruger Ranch Mini-14. That was one fine rifle, yeah! But, I had to sell it, with the rest of my collection.
Then, in 2012, I saw the S&W Sport 1 and wanted it! All I was intending to do with it was to shoot coyotes and plink. Being I'm disabled, it took me almost 3 years to save up for the AR-556. I chose it because of the QC of it over the Sport 2. But, when I made that decision it was based upon the Sport 2 I had rented at a LGS to decide on which AR I was going to buy next. The rented Sport 2 was very used. The AR-556 that I shot at the LGS was brand new. Decision made!
But, like before, I just want to basically plink with it as well. I do miss the PSA AR's I built back in the day. :(

I'm still waiting for Savage to start making an AR Accutrigger... Sigh. Maybe someday they will see the light.

It sounds like you might want a general purpose trigger then. I went with a Geisselie SSA with a 4.5# trigger so I could still use the rifle in the field but not be a detriment at the range. It won't win me any range matches but it will be light enough and smooth enough to get decent groups when punching paper. As long as I do my part of course. Good shooting starts and stops with the shooter. The better equipment is just gravy.

Can someone please educate me on this trigger? I saw it on CTD's website and it states that it's great for a spare, or, "your" next build. To me, I basically see a stock trigger that entry level AR companies install to keep costs down.

It's a standard mil-spec trigger with the contact surfaces polished to remove grittyness and the parts coated with nickel, which should also add some lubricity. Basically the same as an ALG ACT with a different coating material.
