    Bodyguard 380 Replacement - Frustrated

BG380 problems It was indeed a sweet looking platform. Too many common problems with too many owners although, as said, not all owners. I experienced most all the problems, gave up, traded mine in and got a Shield 9. That type of solution is a common message among so many previous and...

    Smith & Wesson BODYGAURD 380?

BG 380 again BG 380 is a beautiful design and concept, cosmetically so very attractive. There seems to be many positive declarations as well as many negative experiences in single or multiple areas. Based upon my experience, I traded mine in towards the reliable, easy to carry and handle...

How do you carry your BG380?

How do you carry your Bodyguard 380 One handed, back in the box, right back to the LGS where I bought it and traded it in for a 9 Shield. I've had no problems since.

One should always have a gun on hand.

Coyotes and other dangerous stuff Just the other day an Eastern Coyote, aka, 1/4 wolf Coyote mix, just smiled at me in the back yard only 15 yards away. I had no pistol. He or she just sauntered off in seeming confidence. Not long ago while hiking in some eastern mountains I surprisingly...

    Carry gun for wife

Carry Gun for My Wife Model 37 is a great gun for a wife to consider -- except for one thing. Is it not vulnerable to range use due to the sensitivity of the light metal parts? If that's the case, then, doesn't using another, even similar gun, to practice regularly make the Model 37...

    S&W vs Glock

Girlfriends, fast cars and pistols. Different fits feel better than others. My factory Gen 4 19 shoots best. Sure, it looks like a stick of butter on a handle, but for me it fits, feels and shoots great. My Beretta PX4 full size feels terrific, I love the extra features and enjoy the...

Bodyguard .380 - Picky on ammo?

Bodyguard .380 - Picky on ammo Mis-fires, mis-feeds, mag-drops, trigger pull complaints. They go on and on, as do all the positive excuses and praise. A great pistol idea, yes, indeed. I got fed up and, with concern about what might happen in a crisis situation, sold mine and bought a 9mm...

    New to Shield. Outstanding Accuracy

My Mass. compliant Shield with required heavy trigger pull was low left, as expected for a righty. Regardless, the guy pictured in your target, despite your slight off center, low right hits, surely looked dead.

    Bodyguard 380 trigger pull survey

Absolutely agree with the criticisms. I sold my .380 Bodyguard and bought a Shield 9mm. The shortcomings of one versus the other was outweighed by the pluses of the Shield. Sad testimony about what the BG should have been.

    M&P Shield Issues?

M&P shield Issues I'm new to the Shield, too, just got the 9 today. I must be missing something as my slide stop will engage with no mag but, yes, it will not disengage via sling shot with no rounds loaded in the mag. Except for shooting low, which I blame on me and the Mass. heavy trigger...

Shipping M&P Shield firearm to myself.

Shipping a handgun to oneself I suppose the question goes, is it worth the risk to be carrying a handgun around in a state where an out-of-state resident doesn't have a permit or right to carry. Or do you mean something else?

Two new Shields.. Two different trigger pulls ?

New Shields with different pulls If all the checking and comparing don't answer the issue, I'd call S&W, ask them if either the serial numbers were for the Massachusetts market. I've seen other posts elsewhere that said two Mass. Shield models had been sold in two different States somehow.

    BG .380 trigger pull

380 trigger pull All good points. Lovers, cars, guns and booze, all challenge preferences. As I mentioned, for me, the BG 380 has some sweet positives. I have a PX4 Storm full size with a sweet short and light cocked trigger pull with all the safety options common to Beretta. I also love my...

    BG .380 trigger pull

380 BG trigger pull 10.5 lbs I hate the long hard pull, too. I assumed Massachusetts' requirements were the cause, where I bought mine. And, I've come to dislike the easy mag drop that seems to be because of my own right thumb at recoil. I overcome that by making sure I double grip and pull...

    9mm shield broke

9mm shield broke Can't even get a Shield in Massachusetts where they're made. Plenty in Las Vegas, Louisiana and who knows where else though. You'd think S&W would at least equally support their own state's gun owners who want to support them. A rare broken part would still be welcomed under...

    Massachusetts Shield in Louisiana

Mass. Shield in Louisana That is so weird to hear. South of Boston we can't get any anywhere. At least as of 2 weeks ago.

Bodyguard 380. Got the slide release out but slide stuck.

BG380 slide return problem Whoooboy. I see now what you mean. If after you reset to normal, I assume it will shoot and work fine. Your last picture shows the same hammer clearance on slide removal as mine and you describe trigger/hammer operation or no operation the same as mine works...

Bodyguard 380. Got the slide release out but slide stuck.

BG380 slide return problem Yes, it's easy to encounter your problem. When you have the slide re-inserted, and pulled back to slide lock position, make sure you pull the barrel forward as far as it will go. You might have to wiggle it to make sure it moves all the way forward. Then release...

    Bodyguard 380 trigger pull

I too have the exact same experience as you describe. Thanks to you and others I will contact S&W for a shipping label. Agreed, this is way to long and hard a pull, and invites laser bobble and easily results in a pulled shot to either side depending upon righty or lefty.
