I don't think the Ca. government would be proactive about enforcing this. However, if it is reported to them that you have an "illegal" weapon, or if somehow the police or fire department were to see one in your house (after a house fire or break-in, etc), you can bet your bottom dollar there...

Forced air heating! This is what I do. I towel dry the brass, then spread it out onto a large cookie sheet and lay it in front of the heat vent. While I tinker with things in the man-cave, the brass gets dried...Usually takes 15 minutes until they are bone dry.
