    New 638 Problems

My 638 is not hard to cock. It is a bit awkward due to the minimal hammer exposure on top and the general small size of the gun. I find my range time with it is split about 60/40 double action/single action. As small and light as it is, the gun is designed for close-in work and not long range...

    Springs etc on 686 SSR

I have installed 13# and 14# rebound springs in my 686 revolvers. Both work well. Your trigger pull will be slightly lower with the 13# verses the 14# spring, but not by a lot. I use blue Locktite, which is removable by the way, on my strain screws and have never had a problem with them...

    Shield 9mm Conversion Barrel

I emailed KKM yesterday and they replied that they have NO PLANS to do a .40 to 9mm conversion barrel for the Shield. "Sorry, we do not make the Shields and do not have any plans at this time."

    M&P22 range fail

Good to learn that S&W fixed the problem and that your M&P is running smooth again. I have a few rounds of CCI std velocity stashed away. I'll have to give it a try.

It would appear they are charging $44.90 for a brick of 500 + $5.00 ammo surcharge + s&h. Kinda pricey.

    M&P 22 Free Sights?

Excellent idea! I had not thought of using flourescent fishing lure paint on the sights. It really ups the visibility. Thanks for the tip!

    M&P 22 Magazine ??

One can order the rear sight for a M&P 9 and install it on the M&P 22 to get a 3 dot sight system. Several on this board have done it.

    M&P 22 question

Just saw 3 M&P 22 CA's at the LGS for $409 each. OUCH!!! Turners Outdoorsman, a SoCal chain, has them on sale for the next week at $379.99, reduced $20 from the regular price of $399.99.

    M&P22 vs Ruger SR22 vs Walther P22

I own the Ruger SR22 and the M&P 22. I like both guns, for much the same reasons. Both are accurate, reliable with most any ammo, easy to strip for cleaning and fun to shoot. The Ruger is more cute and cuddly, it's small size appealing to women and younger shooters. The Smith & Wesson has a...

    M&P 22 question

Turners Outdoorsman, a sporting goods chain in Southern California periodically runs a sale on M&P 22's @ $369.95. Regular price is $399.95. I couldn't tell you whether or not they have any in stock to sell now. I've been in a couple of their stores recently and haven't seen any in the...

Federal Champion ammo in an M&P22, bad results.

Sadly, the supply of reasonably priced CCI Minimags has all but dried up for the time being. That said, having cleaned and then greased the rails of my M&P 22, I must say that I am impressed with its ability to feed and cycle weak .22lr ammo. If I can find some Federal Champions I'll give...

Tons of M&P22 failures - Was it the ammo, or me?

There is NOTHING wrong with your M&P 22. Some ammo is so bad it's not worth loading in any gun! I have a Smith & Wesson Model 63 revolver that always goes to the range when I take my M&P 22. On the sole occassion that I had problems with the M&P I was shooting some old (5-10 yrs)...

    M&P 22 = Awesomeness

I fired 250 rounds through my M&P 22 last night. Due to the ever continuing shortage of .22 lr ammo here on the Left Coast, I ended up shooting a conglomeration of different ammo: Federal Bulk (325 rnd Value Pack) 36 gr plated HP, Remington .22Thunderbolt 40gr black plated RN, Fiocchi 40gr...
