    28/27 parts

Pete, I've seen lots of Model 28-2's that have wear.......never ever seen one that's worn out. For the caliber it is way over built. it's the one gun I always look for at shows....I have both 4's and 6's. Shooting full boat 357's in a 6" N frame is a treat. Good luck

    Questions regarding box and label

To all -- thanks for the replies. I had a chance to look at the gun today, and as most of you pointed out...the box and label looked legit in person. It just had the look of a box that was 48 yrs old. I passed on the gun though, had a couple of minor issues, both lower side cover screws were...

Is this an M&P 1905? If not what is it ?

Does the shape of the hammer determine long or short action? I just picked up the same arm, serial # S 976XXX. Research indicates it has the long action. Just looking to understand the physical differences. Thanks

Thanks to all who responded......The stocks have no maker marks, I googled SILE and the pic's they show have style's that look like my stocks shown above. I would say SILE is the manufacturer.....value 40 to 50 bucks. I was hoping to have some rare ROPER prototype stocks....At least I got a...

I recently picked up 2 Smith's from about 1996 or 97. The serial #'s for both gun start with 3 letters "CAC" and "CBZ". When I researched these guns on page 400 of the SCSW....these letter sequences do not show up. That page is confusing ...am I missing something? 629-4 CACxxxx 617-2 CBZxxxx

Bought em Both Hey Guys I ended up buying both guns. Last night I was pretty convinced that the 44 was the gun to buy, the -4 model is as good as it gets and I plan shooting it for a long time. So after work to I stopped by the 1st shop and bought the 44, nice tight gun. That was...

Price check on a pair of guns 617-2 & 629-4 (Bought em both) Pic's added

The 629-4 classic that I'm looking at doesn't have a box so I'm not sure if you can tell a RB vs SB unless you take the grips off. Don't forget these era gun's had rubber grip's that transformed a round butt to a SQ butt. From all the research I've done I'm sure its a Round but. serial # is...
