don't use too much pressure when you Flitz. Use a soft cloth and go S L O W. Nickel is not very hard

    Please identify this Smith

the Model 13 is a wonderful revolver. A fixed sight K frame, not much different than the 19, a gun which many think is the finest ever. (there are other differences) Enjoy that fine piece of craftsmanship.

    M&P15-22 Rifle (Compliant) ???

I am still on the hunt. Not willing to pay the crazy prices. But the rimfires seem to be coming back. :) Again, thank you for the clarification. I will not worry if I come across a "compliant" 15-22. When I get it and put a can on it....look out squirrels!!!

Major and Wilson, Thank you for the clarification. I live in Texas and have a drill ;)

    M&P15-22 Rifle (Compliant) ???

*dumb question alert* Just to be clear, a "compliant" 15-22 has the 6 position adjustable stock pinned. While reading this I couldn't discern if the "repinning" was just to maintain legality in a restrictive state or the stock needs to be repinned so as to stay in a particular position. Sorry...

    38/44 advice

Dan, Thank you for the kind words. The deal is not complete. But I am very excited at the prospect. Thank goodness that the gun culture is unlike other areas of our society. Generally our "royalty" are regular guys.

    38/44 advice

Dwalt, I am going to start marketing 1911s for Hayes Custom Guns and need to own a couple. (who would trust a guy who doesn't use what he sells?) Aaron Hayes is a GREAT 1911 mechanic. Learned his trade at Clark Custom (his uncle). He does his test targets at 50 yards and if they don't shoot...

    38/44 advice

Okay Okay I will keep it. Besides, 800 bucks isn't enough. FYI, the grips are numbered (they match) and the action is pretty amazing.

    38/44 advice

Feel free to flame away....I can take it.:D A while back I bought a 38/44 transitional (I think...S65704) While high on the cool-factor I am just not an "N" frame guy. I was contemplating selling it and spending that cash on a custom 1911. My question for you guys, how much would you accept...

A gift from father to daughter

seems like the blue on the alloy always looked a little different than on the steel I am guessing 36

    are these fuzzy farrant grips.

on the inside of the grips, where the "D" is located, they look to be sculpted for the exact shape of a S&W. Just guessing but I would try them on a K frame.

    Dirty Harry Model 29

I love my Dirty Harry movies but torturing a suspect is a little more than "no nonsense". :D

    Dirty Harry Model 29

Of course JM was "speaking Loosely" when he said "6 inch". Heck, most of us describe a snubby J-Frame as a 2".

    grips for 686

I probably have a pair of "target" grips lying around. If you want them (and I can find them) we can surely make a deal. Or a trade for magnas ;)

    Inherited 22 long rifle revolver

the K-22 is one of the finest .22 LR revolvers ever made. Amazingly accurate and easy to shoot, based on the "near perfection" of the K-Frame.

S&W Model 27 vs. Colt Python

I have a Python and it is a great revolver. A model 27 is on my list. Of course the ultimate goal is to get SaxonPig to write me into his will :)

Newbie looking for info on Registered Magnum

MP and I respectfully disagree because of where the "line" is between whether the condition is more of a negative than the refinish. But please understand, a refinish is absolutely a negative. As to whether it is more of a negative than the rust is a matter of opinion. I view the finish as...

    EARLY TRANSITION 38/44 HEAVY DUTY

Hey Bill, Sorry for the confusion. You articulated that which I was trying to convey. Looking at the frame and cylinder of the 38/44 I cannot imagine one damaging it. It is truly a beast

Which Is More "Desirable" M28 or M27?

The 27 was the S&W flagship, the most premier gun that they produced for many years. The finish and the action received extra special attention by the finest craftsmen in the shop. The 28 was the "everyman" version. Cops and security guards could afford them. Put another way, the 28 was USDA...

Newbie looking for info on Registered Magnum

You have one of the most highly sought after revolvers ever made. Some argue the finest ever made. Were it mine I would have it restored. Usually I am not one to refinish a gun, especially a rare one, but the finish is so bad I don't think it would hurt the value. Being a collector, S&W is...
