Mod 53-1 converted to .357 question

Mpt This is a good possibility that I had not though of. It would be a mis-mark or bad stamp 581. The 1 was very heavy and "smudged" looking and the 5 pretty light. The left half of the 8 could have missed the steel and made a 3. The switchable hammer was NOT there, it was a standard...

Mod 53-1 converted to .357 question

Jesus, go ahead and be condescending. I will go take pictures of it next week. I own well over 20 S&W revolvers, most P&R; I own a copy of the 3rd edition S&W catalog and have bought several of my revolvers on here. I have been shooting S&W revolvers for the last 33 years. Yes, it was a fixed...

Mod 53-1 converted to .357 question

It was definitely stamped 53- and I thought it was a 1 but it did have a poor last digit, so it could have been a bad 2. The barrel was .357 ad the cylinder was also.

Mod 53-1 converted to .357 question

I was in a gun store yesterday and looked at a 53-1 that had been converted to .357 4". It had a low front sight and gutter rear sight. The shop owner had it on consignment and claimed that it was a 1 of ~2000 conversion done in the factory for a CA law enforcement agency. I can find NOTHING...

    Poor Engagement of Cylinder Stop

Hi All! I need some assistance. My Snubby Model 10 has a single cylinder that the cylinder stop does not function properly. 5 other stops all lock up tight. One clicks into place but then you can spin the cylinder out of battery. The cylinder stop seems to be in good shape, compared to all...

All fluff aside, 5" 27-2 value

Ok... I have a line on a VERY clean 1976 5" 27-2 with TH / TT NO box / NO docs It is being sold through a store, locally. They have a little over $1000 on the tag. 27s are VERY hard to find here in GA. It seems like the guys in the northeast run into 27s for 600-800 bucks all the time. I...

    8 3/8 model 27

I just spent way too much on one that was NIB with the wood case and tools from the late 1970s. But it is as close to 100% as one can get. Target Hammer and target trigger, Patridge front and I think plain rear sight, a WO sight would be nice, but it will look good next to my similar aged NIB...

    Model 27-2 5" barrel

Oh brother, save me..... What is a good price for 5" with no box and a 90% or 95% finish? $850-$950? I am dumping some single actions to fund one. ETA: Well......I might have been premature.... I found a 27-2 8 3/8" that is in LNIB... with the wooden presentation box and tools. I have a...

    Big MotoGP Race Tomorrow.

I refuse to spend over 100 bucks a month on cable for the races. Is motogp.com worth the money so I can watch? If I recall it is about 110 bucks for a year?

Nice! I had to pass on a cheap 681, because I spent all mah monies. :( Dang it. It is one of the few I want, but need to hold off on for a while. I am jealous.

Krebs Custom .45acp 28-2 "CROWBAR" - This is a pretty cool piece

I love the gun, and the work that went into it. Very Cool! My question, couldn't the same small detail work be done with an existing 25-2?
