Model 10, Current Smith&Wesson reblue vs leave alone?

Thanks for all the advice! Ill probably just leave it as is. I certainly dont want a somewhat fragile finish on it as it seems the new bluing is from Smith. It does give it character, and since its an old Australian Police gun, still with their arsenal sticker, I suppose its probably worth...

Model 10, Current Smith&Wesson reblue vs leave alone?

Hello all, havent posted in quite a while but finally have a worthy question! Ive got a, roughly, 1974 3" Model 10-5 that I was thinking of getting refinished. The current finish looks bad. Many holster worn spots, and lots of scratches and little flecks of brown throughout. Mechanically...

    Count your projectiles.....

Well, heres my last post on this matter. I dont know how so many people took a flying leap to the conclusion that I said they were guilty of theft, or are purposely shorting me only, but thats what this thread has turned into. Seems everyone likes to jump on the hater bandwagon, and thats...

    Count your projectiles.....

Again, Ive agreed that they are handling it. Your reading comprehension skills need some serious work. You are doing more whining than anyone else in the thread, all because you think someone shorted something shouldnt even mention it, and because you seem to be reading a LOT into what I wrote...

    EOTech or Aimpoint?

Well, Id have to try an Aimpoint, and it would be the PRO, before I could say for sure, but I like my low end Eotech quite a bit. Just not a fan of N size batteries and short life from them. Maybe one of these days Ill get the XPS sights, but for now my Bushnell Holosight works just fine...

    **DAILY** In-Stock Reloading NOTICES

Nope. Like was stated, your LGS is just doing it because people are still buying them at that price. Shop elsewhere. Ive got a shop 8 miles away that gets $40/1000 on primers. Another shop 15 miles away gets $32/1000. Guess which one I frequent? Lol. You gotta buy in bulk with the...

    Count your projectiles.....

So....what? Again, is there something wrong with me mentioning the fact that I was shorted projectiles in my order and attempting to make others that might actually care aware of it? If you dont mind paying for stuff and not getting it, feel free to start sending envelopes full of money to...

    Count your projectiles.....

Yeah, but thats hard, because I cant do it without eating some of it. Id have to have a scale that read in ounces, then weigh the bag BEFORE I open it....

    Count your projectiles.....

Yeah, all others Ive gotten have erred on the side of the customer, or right on, or at least REALLY close (within one or two). This one was not. Weighed or not, their scale was WAY off to be off that many. Do I think it was purposeful? Who knows. Seems odd that its that far off for two...

    Count your projectiles.....

I just received my order from Precision Reloading for 4000 55gr Hornady FMJ BT bullets. It is at least 130 short. They sent two boxes marked 2000 each. I counted the entirety of one and am 66 short of 2k. Weighing each box, I get an identical number, meaning that most likely the other box...

    Ponsness-Warren Model 375 Duomatic

My Dad has a PW single stage. Great machine. Very heavy duty. Definitely feels much more solid than my MEC 600. But then again, the devil is in the details. My shells look and work better than his, but Im sure thats not the PWs fault, its the time taken to set up the reloader correctly...

    **DAILY** In-Stock Reloading NOTICES

Yep, still checking this thread all the time, and GREATLY appreciate everyones contributions! Every time I try to contribute, someone has beaten me to it! I did score some powder for my handgun loads today though, thanks to a couple of the above posts....

    686+ 3" holster options?

Hi all. Ive been on a search for a simple not too expensive holster to carry my 686. There are plenty of holsters for 4" models, and I have one. But I dont see to many inexpensive holsters (or used) for the 3" bbl models. Heck, Id even take a 2.5" bbl model too, and let the other 1/2" hang...

    Non shooters.........list yours

My list is another short one. None. All of them I own get shot. If they dont function, I make them function, then shoot them. I have an early 1900s Model 4 Remington that was my Great Grandfathers. Still shoot it. I guess I learned from my Dad that the point of a firearm is to be shot...

    I made a mistake. Walked away from a 64-3 for $429......

Well, not sure if that was a mistake or not, but I walked away from a Model 28 4" bbl for $329....still wish Id have bought it.

    VFG vs AFG

Well, having had both, on my RRA, and also having wrist (elbow actually) issues, here is my take. I had a VFG originally. A Knights Armament. Still have it actually, along with the rail covers. They are all packed away now though. I didnt like how tall the VFG was, but otherwise liked it...

    Picking up shotgun shells.

Exactly. When I was shooting a ton, a few years back (6-8k per year), Id LOVE to see someone tell me I couldnt pick up my empties. Back then they were going for about 5 cents each. Cant pick up my own property? Yeah, right. Good luck with that.... Around here that place would be out of...

    **DAILY** In-Stock Reloading NOTICES

They arent. I bought 1000 Federal small pistol primers a week ago for $33 tax included locally. If the little gun shop I got them at can sell them at that price, the big ones certainly can too. They just arent, they are pricing accordingly, which is higher than normal. Now there is another...

    Picking up shotgun shells.

Pick em all up and toss the ones you dont want. Really though, unless everyone else is shooting Estates or Rio, there isnt a good reason NOT to pick them all up. Remington STS hulls, along with their ribbed gun club and black economy hulls all load the same. Winchesters newer AA hulls...
